    Off Site Hotel Ideas?

We want to head over for the weekend and surprise surprise there are no rooms available at WDW.

I noticed a lot of hotels on I-92, any recommendations? We want to spend about 60-85 bucks a night if possible.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have thanks. Was looking for some personal experience from some Mice Chatters.

I hate picking a hotel based on photos.

How about some hotels in Palm Parkway?
I have stayed at the Marriot(formerly Howard Johnson) several times. The rooms are all suites and prices are pretty good.

I concur, I am a big fan of the hotels on Palm Parkway, especially the Marriot and its not that far from property.

Are all the DTD hotels full? My friend had a nice stay in one of those (the name escapes me now sorry).

EDIT: Sorry those might actually be out of your price range now that i think about it

there's a comfort inn right outside the main drag on buena vista parkway that's inexpensive and somewhat nice at the same time...it's good if you just want "a place to crash".

AVOID! The beds are very uncomfortable and the A/C scared the crap out of me every time it turned on.

That being said, I heard the Fairfield Inn on the other side of I4 (by the outlet mall) is pretty nice.

This weekend the Sheraton Safari has AAA rates of $99...if that's not too far off your budget.

Very close in to Disney (just outside the Disney Marketplace area near Crossroads shopping center). Wonderful Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds. Safari themed. Super friendly staff. Nice pool (with python waterslide).

    Good Luck!

Someone suggested the Travelodge and we booked there. Will let you know how it goes when we get back but it was in our price range and only 3 miles from MK.

Thanks for all your input, the only thing that stinks is I can't participate in EMH. LOL

I know this hotel in orlando by int. drive in a place called calypso cay. we stayed there two times, and they have a nice pool, friendly staff, and awesome kid's suites, if u have any kid's going along. I also recommend the mariott hotel area. they are 3 hotels in one space all run by mariott that have almost disney themed pools, a large arcade (and an arcade is not two broken down atari systems and a crane machine ) and even an on site pizza hut, or was it pappa john's. whatever, anyways, they rooms there are unique for handicapped, king beds, kids, everything. i mainly stay at disney hotels, but these two are highly recommended by an orlando/disney freak !!!

p.s. the hotels are both about 80 bucks/night
have fun at disneyworld!!! rofl i might be there too. u never know lol

    Re: Off Site Hotel Ideas?

    I know it's a little late, but I've been away from Micechat ... I'd have tried Priceline.com.

I always use them when I can't snag a room on property at my price.

You can get some amazing deals.

    I would check out biddingfortravel.com.

But you can usually get the DD Hilton for around $60 per night (and they do participate in EMH) or Gaylord Palms for around $80-90 (well worth it) at the resort level. Or places like the Best Western LBV in DD and the Sheraton Safari for between $38-50 per night at the 3-star level. ... Or even places like Hampton Inn LBV for $36 per night. It's a great resource and beats booking on your own.

If you have a cancellation window, I'd try it before I'd stay at Travelodge ...
