    Princess/Pirates party no more...

Rumors are swirling among some personal WDW CMs friends of mine in the know that the Princess and Pirates MK Parties are not meeting their attendance goals... and therefore might not be returning again next year... so for those of you interested in going.. buy your tickets and enjoy, just in case this turns out to be true..

20 yrs down the road we'll be here reminicing about what a nice time we all had dressed in pirate costumes and as drag princesses...

AW. That sucks. We weren't able to go this year (although, we made plans) we're saving our money for our Halloween trip. It sounded like such fun though.

Well it is the off season. It would've been nice to see what would've happened with this during the spring break weeks.

I think they were trying something new this year during the slow period. Trying to get "heads in beds." Well it worked for us. We normally go at Halloween and that is when Blizzard Beach is closed. We promised our ten year old we would go again when it was open. We chose to go at this time because BB is now open and WDW happens to be having a party as well! Bonus! Can't wait!

When did they have a marketing plan that did go right?

    Recently, that is.

Remember folks.. this is only a rumor. Nothing to the effect has been decided yet. For all I care, it would not be surprise me if next year they offered the "Pirates, Princesses, and Fairies Party" in the hopes of bringing out more pixie fans to the event...

I like that idea better, I'd love to party with fairies.

Which means it would turn into 1-part TDL Princess Days 2007 and 1-Part DLR's Pirates Movie Premire.

And given their current castle show, I think it is a safe bet as to which they will rip off first should that happen.

    Re: Princess/Pirates party no more...

it takes time to build up events like this. when they started the halloween events and christmas didn't have the crowds they do now. personally I think it's too close to the christmas parties and the locals don't want to shell out another 30 something dollars for yet another after hours "event" . they are also competing with mardi gras at universal studios, and eventhough that's only on saturdays, it's included in admission. oh and of course there is the fair in tampa as well as gasparilla and the strawberry festival in march. so lots of things for people to spend cash on.

Having an event too close to the Christmas one never stopped TDL, what with their Princess Days event coming on the heels of the Countdown event.

But, then again, they don't charge party ticket prices for those.

Zeek, you forget the Club Disney nights at TDS and TDL last week and this week are "hard ticket events" with separate admission media.
