Wand VS Hat: If you could only get rid of one...

Both these add-ons to park hubs have been attacked repeatedly, and it's obvious people dislike both, but if you could get rid of one, which one?

Personally, I'd get rid of the wand. The wand is far uglier to me because you can see all the superstructure holding it up both at ground level and just by looking at it from the side. Ruining the symmetry of Spaceship Earth is another point but to me it seems fairly obvious that the wand is completely un-magical.

The hat, of course, interrupts the Main Street effect of Hollywood Blvd and knocked the Chinese Theater and the water tower into irrelevancy. However, it seems like a better construction job than the wand to me. When I look at the side of the gigantic gloved hand, they've put white panels shaped to fit the shape of the hand instead of bare superstructure. Ditto for the hat's insides.

Personally I dont have too much of a problem with the hat. It seems to have a ligitmate reason for being there (Disney can no longer put the Chinese Theatre in ads) I think it does fit the theme (Fantamsic is the crowning achievement of the Disney Studios in the golden era and as a plus its ties in with the parks night show) and is more effective as a wennie then the Theatre ever was (unlike SSE, Cindy's Castle, and the Tree of Life it never really stood out to me at the end of Hollywood Blvd like the others do from their respective locations.)

That said, I also have another reason to pick the wand, SSE is a very sentimental personal ride for me for reasons I wont eleborate and I wish for it to return to its classic facade!

The wand. I'm tired of seeing it when I ride over to/ or by Epcot, and also seeing it from across the lake when I'm in World Showcase.

I want them both down, and the current crop of managers at WDW can go with them, but the hat IMHO has done more damage thematically to MGM than the butt ugly wand has done to Spaceship earth. So... even though I *hatehatehatehate* the wand... If I had to choose one... I want the Hat gone and Hollywood St. restored to it's original splendor with the Chinese Theater as a backdrop.. That would please me lots. As for the wand... it's only a matter of time before it succumbs to it's own weight and comes down crashing on 100 unsuspecting guests below it.

I am not a huge fan or either, but I dispise the wand less. I think I can block it out better. I can see the hat from just about everywhere in the Studios and am constantly reminded of it while in that park. Once I have passed Spaceship Earth with the park layout, I can maneuver myself so I don't have to see the wand.

The Wand I don't mind and the Hat I really like, so I suppose if I had to pick one I'd pick the Wand, but I don't hate either of them.

Of course not, you are an Eisner baby, and like everything daddy did.

They are both atrocious for several reasons, but the wand does less damage.

Although I would like to see the hat gone someday, I would much more prefer to see the wand gone right away. The sooner the wand is down the better.

    The Hat.
    I'm a Hollywood girl
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

The hat I can deal with - sort of. The era of the original MGM was an "off time" for me in my Disney travels. But the wand, the first time I saw it in person, it was quite the shock.
