Walt Disney Wrld College Housing and FAQ

I have three questions for the college program

First, how is the housing at disney world? what are the apartments like and does anybody know where more information (besides the main disney college web site) can be found?

Second. Does anybody know any good sites with people talking about thier experiences with the program?

Third, For anyone who has been in the program, have they been assinged as a hopper. If so, whats it like?

If anybody has anymore questions about the program, please post them here and hopefull, alumini will answer them.

I finished the College Program last year, and can hopefully help you out. The apartments are great actually. Generally, there are two complexes, Vista Way and Chatham Square. Chatham is often considered the nicer of the two, and I would agree. Both offer 4, 6, and 8 person apartments, no singles or 2 people, despite what the site says. Second, there are plenty of good sites to ask people about it. One is this one, and the other that comes to mind would be The College Board on disboards.com. And third, no, I was not and have never met anyone assigned as a hopper. If that's what you're wanting, you should only mark that choice, as its not one of the more available roles they need filled.

Re: Walt Disney Wrld College Housing and FAQ

I've had a few friends who were hoppers, but they worked specifically at Epcot (you can always pick up extra shifts at other parks, if you like). I've heard the term "Super-Greeter" applied to custodians before, but I think hoppers also fit in there. A few of the jobs my friends fulfilled were food-service custodial (he didn't have any food-serivce training, but they were short-staffed, so it was his job to clean up after guests). My other friend roamed around the park and interacted with guests. Apparently, it is as simple as that.

I do encourage you to visit the link Lazyboy provided. Most of the CPs around here have already shared their experiences there, and there is a TON of information for you, if you're curious.

    Good luck!

    1) The housing is nice. You stay at one of 2 complexes: Chatham and Vista. Vista is the older complex. Chatham is the newer complex (thus nicer). I stayed at Chatham for both CPs. The apartment sizes run from a 1 BR up to a 4 BR.

    2) For sites I recommend: Disboards.com (there is a college section), http://pub57.ezboard.com/bwaltdisney...raminformation, Disneyalumni.com (there is a general section) for starters. Also, if you are on Facebook, just look under Disney College Program. Lots there.

    3) Unfortunately can't answer this one. I did merchandise and character attendant on my CPs.

but you actually have to share bedrooms with another person right? so it's kinda like living in a dorm?

what a shame, I thought my dorm days were over!

Yes, but it isn't a dorm feel at all. They are larger in space as they are apartments.

Yes. There is 2 people per bedroom. So even the 1 BR apartments will have 2 people in the apartment.

Usually, there are more than two people per bedroom ... and all sorts of characters are there too.
