I have been searching through many restaurant menus and have yet to find a Monte Cristo Sandwich currently being sold at WDW.

You can get a croque monsieur at lunch at Chefs de France. Not quite the "fast-fooded up" version that a Monte Cristo is but I like 'em. But then I like Gruyere cheese. It's ham and gruyere cheese, fried like a monte cristo - no turkey - and for the love of all that is holy, do not ask for powdered sugar on it.

Croque-madames are good too - they are the same, but have a fried egg on top (use you imagination as to why that changes the sandwich from a Mr. to a Mrs.)

Ah, add the egg. That brings back late night college memories after the bars closed of cheese steak hogies with two fried eggs and bacon on them. Any wonder why Lipitor is my friend


Edit; I have never had the croque monsieur at EPCOT. Don't want anyone to think I am endorsing it. I have had them elsewhere and they are good. For all I know, EPCOT's may be excellent.

Please don't say the Monte Cristo - unless DL makes some sort of special monte cristo that is not the over fried, dusted with powdered sugar, fast-food america, lets take a food that has flavor and add breading, sugar, and, oh yeah, another meat just for kicks and a blander cheese because people may be offended if they taste someting besides sugar and bland fats.

Brought to you by the same people that think when a pizza place advertises "now with a sweeter sauce" is a good thing.

Or Dunkin Dounuts offeres a "sweeter, moister, scone" - or in other words "more sugar, higher fat content (trans fat if you must know), thing we call a scone but in no way resembles an actual scone"

Well Phoneydave.. since you ask: Kakigories. No wait! That's sold at EPCOT. But in relation to DL? I find their mexican fare fares better than what we got at WDW in the same categories.

OK. I have never been to DL, but based on the mexican-esque that I have eaten at WDW I would be inclined to agree with you.

I have not eaten in San Angel Inn (for a variety of reasons, which I hope to rectify) but they do have a mole poblano and ceviche so unless it's really bad, there are some seemingly good offerings

I don't think I'll get to San Angel again. It looks like Chefs de France, Le Cellar, and Alfredos (for a last hurrah) this comming Tue/Wed

Hate to be the one to revise your "fact" that they "have" a Monte Cristo sandwich there...but must sadly report that they don't "have" anything there anymore.

Because Jungle Jim's at Crossroads is no more. I think it closed right after New Years. I was there just this past January and the place was boarded up and there were signs tacked up advertising the (then) upcoming auction of all the contents of the restaurant.
