Random Idea/Question regarding the Haunted Mansion

This is a lot of hypothetical stuff here, you've been warned...

What if, during the refurb (this is based on them re-doing the attic like DL's), they repurposed the pop-ups from the attic in the area currently taken up by the large static spiders. That area of the track is in desperate need of some TLC. If they redressed the pop-ups it could add some "action" to that track section. Hopefully, WDI has better plans for that area and, the mansion as a whole, than what I came up with.

I don't know if that's really the best option for that section... that area is intended to be slow, the silly spooks are beginning to materialize at that point whereas in the graveyard scene all the spooks are in full force. I think something creepier would be better suited for that location.

I didn't mean that I felt that was the BEST option, just the one I came up with. I should of explained better, I was thinking they could relocate 2 or 3 of the heads there and dress it up with other scenery. Heck, they could have some faux windows that flash lightning, and with every strike of lightning, a spirit would pop up (just an example of their use).

Anything is better than those very lame spiders they have there. Everything before and after that ride is excelent (scene and story wise). This scene needs to be as good as the scenes around it.

agreed the static spiders are pretty similar to ones I had on my haunted porch last year.

I had heard about the man in the web (I thought it was rumor) but, even with a manequin that section would be disappointing. The least they could do is to have the spiders be full AA's.

Does anyone know what Tokyo has in this section of the ride? (Sadly, I've only been to the stateside parks. Hopefully that changes in a couple years.)

Tokyo has the spiders, and they are more fully animated. There is an EXCELLENT ride-thru video of Tokyo's HM, so you can see for yourself. Tokyo has several effects not found in any other Mansion (page-flipping book; push-out portrait in the Corridor of Doors), and it has livelier AA's (hydraulic instead of pneumatic, for you geeks); notice especially the graveyard band.
