Talking Graduation Present! Yay!

My aunt has decided to take me to WDW as a graduation present. She told me she would take me to Disney, help me buy a car, or pay for my first year of books at college. So, being the mature, thoughtful, and intelligent 17-year-old I am, I thought about it for all of 2 seconds before deciding on Disney.

We're going at the end of May and staying at ASMv. Staying a whole week! She even said she's willing to stay longer if I want. Yay!

Anyways, I decided to post here, because none of my friends are really excited about it since they're not going (which I can understand).

Re: Graduation Present! Yay!

many people tend to do that, my HS grad gift was a trip to Disneyland... mind you I graduated in 2005 so guess when I went

and my AS degree president is a cruise through canal... (had to tall grandmother about it to seal the deal)

though i might have been tempted with a new car..

Awesome! I'm sure you'll have a blast! Then in college you can participate in the Disney College Program and go back!

I don't think I could do the College Proram (much as I love Disney). I've looked at the information many times. The problem is, most (not all, but most) of the jobs involve a lot of people. I don't deal well with most people and I wouldn't want to ruin someone's trip with my anti-social personality. I might be able to deal with a cashier-type job or customer service, but I wouldn't bet on it. And I know I would suck at being an attraction host or character. *shudders in horror*

Well there are a number of roles, including ones that are Backstage only. Just focus on your trip and school and maybe you'll find some college program students you can talk to when you're at WDW.

I also know from personal experience that the College Program is a great way to change an anti-social personality. I was the same way you are. I never wanted to be around anybody, I hated groups, and I hated crowds even more. Then I became a CP, and my life changed. Now I can't imagine a job were I don't get to talk to people all day. I met people from everywhere, and I had the chance to talk to quite a few of them. I can tell you, as a former anti-social, that you are seriously missing out on what the world has to offer.

Re: Graduation Present! Yay!

You should have picked the college one.

But, hey! If it's all the same to you, congrats on getting an all-expenses-paid trip to WDW!
