    Maelstrom upcoming rehab

Maelstrom at Epcot is going down for rehab from April 30th to May 24th. While short, do you think they will be adding or changing anything?

What would people like to see changed?

I'm glad this isn't another all summer one or I'd really be hitting the roof.

The scrapping of the Norwegian film at the end.

Something, anything, to make the queue more bearable. Endless switchbacks in a room with nothing but paintings of oil derricks and vikings is more vicious than anything those trolls could unleash.

I heard they are just going to do fix it up, but no major changes are coming. They are changing the video at the end of the ride. But I dont think people will notice it because of guest just skip the video segment.

I couldn't agree more. This is one of the worst queues at WDW.

Pull the plug on the unnecesary and stupid (formerly SAS-sponsored) film and make the ride longer. No one wants to see the film, reason why lots of folks skip it, and there should be no "holding guests hostage" in the waiting area after the boat ride. Maelstrom was a major disappointent for me from the begining and a ride that looks cheap and poorly designed. Better yet, update the ride with much nicer sets and more technical wizardry, and that alone I would be happy with.. but not 100% satisfied..

Made worst by having Fastpass, which is totally unneeded here (and at most if not ALL, Disney rides as well.)

Fastpass line definitely makes it MUCH worse, since you have to wait twice as long, and they block the boarding area with a wall that further separates the FASTPASS elite.

I was there in Feb, and the Trolls audio wasnt working! It says look out for trolls, they popped up and then there was silence until we went backwards. I dont know if that has been fixed, but if not it should be soon.
It's like i'm talking to a monkey, a really really big stupid monkey named Kronk.

They're adding Jack Sparrow...and a loop. Good heck that joke refuses to die. I don't even think it's funny any more. But someone has to say it
I'm gonna agree with tdflan, the hostage-holding and the movie is rediculous. Sooo many times i've been hostage with first timers wandering around wondering how the heck one gets out of there. Or atleast just leave the doors open and let the movie play on a loop, so those who want to watch it can just stop and sit, while the others of us can walk on through.

They need to upgrade the seats on the boats. The most uncomfortable ride vehicle ever... my back hurts sooo bad whenever I brave that ride. I usually avoid it as a result (plus the fact the ride sucks).

They are changing it into a true water coaster, but this time with a vertical drop!!!

personally, update everything, maybe add some stuff to the show scenes.. or add to the attraction? they can move unload to part of the olde theater.. lol then give the load a better queue as well...

who could forget the loop right before breaking into unload!
