DYK...Disney Imagineers have calculated that if both towers were to drop at the same time that Rock'n Roller Coaster launched it would bring down the Studio's power grid. This is prevented because the Imagineering department decided to build a power sub-station that services just this section of the park.

Sorry, forgot to post it on the one up above!

DYK...that there is actually a wave machine in the 7 Sea's lagoon? When the Polynesian Resort first opened, the imagineers wanted to simulate the real waves you would get if on the ocean so they installed a large wave making machine off shore below the surface. In the first year, the errosion to the man made Poly beaches was so severe they stopped using it, but it is still there to this day. If you take a Water mouse out and get lucky, you can still see the machine.

    Thanks for the DYKs, Duck!!!!!

DYK...If you were to wash and dry one load of laundry every day for 33 years, you'd clean as much as the folks at the Walt Disney World Laundry do in a single day. The 550 workers there launder an average of 120,000 pounds each day. In addition, between 30,000 and 32,000 garments are dry-cleaned daily.

    Everyone have a great day!!!!!

DYK...that one of the designers of the Adventures Club left the Disney company and opened an oddly themed resturant in NYC? One of the creators opened the Jekyll and Hyde Club and resturant in New York City and it has been a hit with guests ever since! Featuring a large Zeus, interactive gargoyles, a Sphinx and a cast of real life zany characters it is like walking into the Adventures Club if it was taken over the wacky scientist!

I have eaten here several times and can tell you that it is VERY much like the Adventure Club, it is the same Zeus statue, same technology to talk to guests and very much the same show stylings. It is a good resturant with good interaction, even in the heart of NYC. You can check it out at:

DYK....that cast member actually try out the rooms of all new resorts BEFORE THEY NEW RESORTS OPEN? Not surprising of course, BUT what those castmembers have to do to get the rooms may be. There is generally a lottery held and the winning castmembers are invited to a free 1 or 2 night stay, with some conditions of course.

Upon check-in with the training desk crew they are given a large list of things they are asked to try in the rooms to make sure they work. These includes trying the hot and cold nobs on all fixtures to insure they are on the right sides, checking the locking mechanisms on all doors and windows, testing the air/heat conditioners etc. It is awesome to stay at a resort not even open, but watch that first shower.
