Electric Umbrella Toppings

The toppings bar was removed from the Electric Umbrella at EPCOT. So do the Cast Members now add toppings to the burgers by hand or are you just left without toppings in exchange for unlimited refills on your soft drinks?

Toppings are expensive. When people waste them they get removed. I am sure someone in corporate did some analysis and found it to be more cost effective to remove them.

People tend to abuse "free toppings". Hang out and watch any toppings bar for a while. People either take way to much and throw it away, or they make themselves a free salad.

There is really no additional labor cost to "top" the food in the back of the house. You save on materials, and the additional labor is offset by the fact that you no longer have to stock a toppings bar. In addition some companies feel better not allowing customers access to each others food.

I actually quite like my mushrooms and onions.

But yes, I would rather have re-fills of soda then toppings. However I did not realise they replaced the toppings with soda, I thought they just removed the toppings bar.

I heard it was more about space than cost. There really isn't much room in the Electric Umbrella to put both, so they opted for the drink refills.

I also heard if they choose to add this other places with a toppings bar (i.e. Cosmic Rays) there is room for both to live in harmony, as the space is there for both.

I had forgotten Electric Umbrella was at Epcot! I thought we were talking about Cosmic Ray's, but yoyo made me realise. Jeeeeeeez. I've never ate at Electric Umbrella.
