Which classic needs the MOST help?

Alright, with the HM refurb finally coming this summer, what ride at the MK needs a refurb the most? Is it Jungle Cruise or Space Mountain? Or is it something totally out of left field like Country Bear Jamboree or Peter Pan's Flight? Vote and discuss!

Jungle Cruise is what I picked, although Country Bear Jamboree was a close second. Both rides need to have all of the animatronics put back in perfect order. It would also be good if they would add some newer animatronics. Perhaps a new effect or two.

I also think that Jungle Cruise should be shortened (I know, it's blasphemy) but as much as I like it, I think it takes up way too much space.

Of course I want them to shorten it AND use the space for something else - not just shorten it.

As much as I would love my beloved Jungle Cruise to get at least fixed and possibly updates similar to those at Disneyland... Space Mountain by far needs the most work. With its ridiculously bumpy and old track, and extremely outdated exit "area", it needs a face lift the most.

I am getting a little distraught by looking at peeling pieces of tinfoil every time I pass the volcano on Peter Pan's Flight.

Although the Country Bears need some TLC also.

Well they do say that aluminum is recyclable.

I voted Space Mountain, although any on that list could use a good workover.

I would also vote other and say take a sledge hammer to Pooh's shameful spot but that would be bad and I'm in a good mood today.

Of those choices, Space Mountain. I hasn't had anything done to it since it opened in the 70's!

Re: Which classic needs the MOST help?

seeing as how I have to work at Space Mountain, I voted for it.....

Our refurb isnt scheduled until February 2009 (i believe) and it will be down for 18 months

(disclaimer: the following are details I have gathered from internet sources and WDI people that hang around D.U. - do not take this as stated fact, although i have been told some of this will likely happen)

The refurb is apparently quite extensive as they are planning on tearing out both tracks and replacing it with one larger track (to accomodate the newer and larger rocket trains) thusly removing its Matterhornish-ness....yes i just made that word up :-P

In addition, they plan on having a blast tunnel for the last 1/3 of the main lift to simulate a rocket lauch at a higher speed. Ride operation controls will also be updated to reflect the newer propulsion systems and brake zones. Finally, there will be a general update of the building to make it more....futuristic? I hope they keep some of the original elements so that its not unrecognizable

Anyways, thats hat i know for now....hopefully ill still be working at Space when the refurb happens :-D

Re: Which classic needs the MOST help?

If they were to remove both tracks, shouldn't the ride be twice as long as either Tokyo's or DL's? That would be quite a ride. Personally, I like the way FL's is set up with two tracks (I know their basically the same, I'm weird like that though)and small cars. At any rate, thanks for the info Space Junk.

Back on topic, I'm surprised by how few votes there are for the speedway.
In order of importance I would say:

    1. Space Mountain
    2. Speedway
    3. Carousel of Progress (Not listed)
    4. Jungle Cruise
    5. Peter Pan's Flight
    6. Country Bear Jamboree
    7. POTC ( I know they just did a refurb but, IMO they should go thru and replace all the old AA's with new ones, very $$, and replace all the speakers.)

no problem...i love our mountain....but it needs some love....and yes, the track would be much longer....remember, we have a 300 ft diameter and over 4,500,000 cubic feet to play with, compared to a 200 ft diamter in Disneyland....itll be awesome when its done

    im confident!

I actually love the smaller cars and split tracks of WDW's Space Mt. I'll be bummed if they change it.

That could be a very interesting Space rehab.

    Alright, I'm switching gears entirely...
If/When the Jungle Cruise rehab occurs, what all do you think they will do?What would you like them to do?
