Re: What's coming to animal kingdom?

The only space left for a new land would be where Beastlie Kingdomme was supposed to be, so if they did build Australia or something else, that would be the end of it (unless they change the roadways around the park - you can see all this easily enough on Google Earth). There is some land left in the Dinoland section, where part of the Excavator roller coaster was supposed to have been.

As previously mentioned, The Excavator was supposed to be built but Joe Rodhe never approved it.

I can't really say I blame him. While I haven't seen a whole lot of the concept art for the Excavator, the work I have seen makes it look alot like California Screamin' at DCA, only in brown, Earthy tones. Dinoland didn't need a coaster like that. However, it also doesn't need Dinorama, and that needs to go away.

Someone mentioned building a Timberland Twister-esque coaster in Dinoland. That could be interesting. But if Disney wanted to save a buck or two, they could just enclose Primeval Whirl and do something with that. It's still good for a laugh, it's a cheap thrill, but it's already there. They could still call it the Excavator if they wanted to, and theme it to a network of underground caves where Dinosaur excavation is currently taking place. I think a coaster more like TT, or the idea I just mentioned is a better fit than a Big Thunder sans Mountain.
In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate.

    All current DAK projects:

-Kilimanjaro Changes in operation and storyline
-Attempting to aquire Pandas from China
-Nighttime Lagoon Show opening April 2008.
-Yak and Yeti Restaurant (under construction)
-Attempting to fix Nemo... it's supposed to have 5 shows a day, but the equity actors keep calling in.
    -Parade Updates
    -Rainforest Cafe Waterfalls Rehab (In-progress)

From what I saw of the concept, Excavator would go through the boneyard and travel through the Dinosaur bones. It would be kind of cool, better than Dinorama. lol.

I agree that a Jungle Book attraction would be make an excellent addiction to the park. I am shocked that Disney had not used these characters for a ride or attraction. There were rumors a long time ago in Disney News (Magazine) that Disney was thinking about putting the Jungle Book characters in the Tiki Room at Disneyland or Disneyworld. We all know what happened to the new Tiki show. lol.

If they want a lagoon show, they better do something to the paths around that area, because there currently is hardly any room to see the lagoon from, it would be nice if they had some sort of seating area though.

Forget about seats. Not gonna happen. Fantasmic! at the Studios is considered a mistake because they have a giant theatre that remains empty in the day except for show practice.

The shoreline can be extended for little cost. I'm sure they'll have to learn that the hard way though.

What type of lagoon show is coming to Animal Kingdom? I've heard that the show is going to be a parade of Disney characters that move along the Discovery River and that it would feature no pyro at all due to the animals.

Good, they probably don't like parades and floats and fireworks anyways.

Too bad "March of the Penguins" and "Happy Feet" were both another distributor's hits, as they would fit in nicely with the ANTARCTIC pavilion.
