I'm pumped, I'll be at WDW the first weekend in June. As a SW geek I'm excited for Star Wars Weekend.
Can anybody shed more light on it? What can I expect?
You can expect a Star War's geek's wet dream.
It's really a lot of fun. Most of the Star Wars stuff is confined to the area around Star Tours (the good guys) and on Mickey Ave (bad guys). Lots of interesting characters out interacting with crowds... especially the bounty hunters!
The guy they had playing Anakin the last couple years was a dead ringer for Hayden Christensen too... and he totally nailed the part! Hope they have him back again this year. Now if they only get a young Obi-Wan that's a ringer for Ewan McGregor.....![]()
I've been the last three years. It's amazing... if you like star wars. Apparently it;s annoying to people who don't. I planned on going this year because it usually starts in the end of May... but noooo they decide to start it in June so i'm off by one week.![]()

It's a really great time and they have a lot of events that you need to look out for. There is obviously more character interraction, when we were there last year the Emperor came up behind me and he was flanked by two guards, was very creepy and intimidating but great!
They had the emperor music playing the background and you really felt like he was going to lift his hand and just choke you.
Tell me this guy isn't creepy? LOL

nice pics. I've been dying to go for a while now. I hope this year I'd be able to go. Do they keep the park open longer for Star Wars weekends?

I had the best time. We went last year and would have gone this year but plans changed. You will see characters around, a nice parade. Don't forget your picture with Darth Vader!

I went last year, from my experience (and from what the unofficial Guide to WDW says) the crowds are not much higher than usual EXCEPT for the Star Wars related things.
In other words, wait times for TOT will be about the same, but to get a photo with Darth Vader or the autograph events ... eh... that might take a while.
Definitely show up 30 minutes or so BEFORE the park opens because there is a ceremony with the Storm Troopers that is really funny.
And there are tons of SW characters throughout the park. TONS! Some are just wandering around and you can grab a photo with no wait at all.

It is truely an amazing experience.....I especially loved seeing all the little Jedi at the Jedi training camp, and they all kicked Darth Vader's butt....![]()
The parade is also pretty awesome, with all the characters (whom are all going to be roaming around throughout the day ready to give autographs and take pictures)
Also, while around Star Tours,,,be prepared to be startled multiple times by random creatures (big and small) that weren't necessarily huge parts in the moives, but nevertheless there. (I went a few years ago with my friend, and one of those lobster things scared the living daylights out of me)
