Special July 4th Fireworks

Does anyone have any inside info on the "special edition" fireworks for the Magic Kingdom on July 4th?

"Fantasy in the Sky, familiar to generations of Magic Kingdom visitors who "oohed" and "ahhed" its bursts of color above Cinderella Castle for more than a quarter century beginning in 1975, will be presented at 9 p.m. in a special edition that includes extra dazzling pyrotechnics. "

Fantasy in the Sky will be at the MK this year?

TDLFAN or some other local correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't FitS been presented at the Sutdios on July 4th for the last few years?

I'll correct you (and take no gleeful pleasure) ... Fantasy in the Sky was the longtime MK show replaced by Wishes in 10/03. They likely are going with the traditional FitS show because it is cheaper then creating a new version of Wishes for one night only.

You were thinking of Sorcery in the Sky, the terrific, amazing spectacular fireworks show they used to have nightly in summer and holiday periods at the Studios until Fantasmic opened in 1998. So sad, really ... SitS was just wonderful, lots of classic movie music and fireworks bursting over the Chinese Theater (no damn big *** hat to block the view).

Don't expect much difference than the usual firework bursts around the MK's perimeter and over Seven Seas Lagoon they usually do for special events. But the MK's pyro usually turns to red white and blue for most of the show.. Over at EPCOT, there will be an expanded extra finale to the usual Illuminations show. MGM may have something special as well.

I thought they had "holiday Wishes" now... wishes such as

"Holloween"
"Winter"
"Forth of July"

the special FITS was replaced by this special wishes i heard....

i think they do SitS at the studios on July 4th....

but the one at Epcot is awesome...they do a tribute to the branches of the armed forces

, playing each 'theme' song with fireworks from off of AA also

at least they did back in 03 when I was last there.

MGM is presenting a version of Sorcery in the Sky on the 4th. I have no idea if it's the same as the one they used to show ... or one with patriotic tunes from movies ...

Nope. Not for July 4th. There has been talk, confirmed by Steve Davison himself, that there will be special Halloween and Chistmas versions of Wishes this year, but ONLY for the special hard-ticket parties that the MK offers.

I thought I read somewhere that last year's 4th of july at MGM was not a "Sorcery" show but a patriotic medley with fireworks involved. No movie medley, no Fantasia, no inflatable Mickey. Just pyro and patriotic music. Not sure if that is true.

Allow me to correct all of you.

Fantasy in the Sky will not be shown on the 4th of July. I don't care where it says that, but it is just not true. A special 4th of July Fireworks show will take place at the Magic Kingdom on July 4th. This show has a mirrored launching location in the middle of the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Epcot will add a special 4th of July ending to the normal show.

The Disney-MGM Studios will present a special 4th of July show.

None of the old shows are coming back, I'm sorry to report.

That would be correct.

Sorcery is gone.

This is not Sorcery in the Sky. It is a special 4th of July show. Cast Members might call it Sorcery, but by no means is it Sorcery from what I hear.

^^^Really? I thought WDW has put out a press release stating that it would be the old shows -- at least the old names. I know I saw it posted somewhere.

Doesn't matter to me, I'll be at DL for July 4th!

I wish sorcery was still around.. heck Disneyland has a fireworks show and fantasmic.... it draws in attendence... and keeps people near the hub area.. (near the shops..)

thought it would have to be redone cause of that dang hat..
