Cool Because I miss this place soooo much...

I want them to bring it back!! I loved seeing all the different countries other than the standard ones that will never leave the edges of the World Showcase lagoon.

**I still have the book/passport thing that you could get stamped from each country there, and my name is written in their respective languages**

id love to see Millenium Village come back, but its called the Millenium Village for a reason....

Regardless, it would be nice to bring back in some permanent fashion!!

I never had a chance to experience it so I am indifferent through ignorance of the topic.

    Me too!

And all I heard about it is that there were Swedish Balls at the Sweden Pavillion.

It was a nice chance to see some of the other countries that could not afford a full pavalion. There were some interesting exhibits, and interesting food.

It would not be the Millenium Village, but it could be something.

I think I remember seeing that on our 1999 visit, and I think it was pretty cool, so I voted yes.

The balls exhibit consisted of plastic balls (like those in McDonald's playpens) running thru hoses and the like. It was the stupidest thing, like most other exhibits in that Millenium Village. I personally am glad this Millenium Village thingy is history now. I am not fond of anything Disney does under a so-called permanent tent. It's cheap and below par for a Disney park. The only plus I can think of about the Millenium Village is that the facility does have the largest restrooms ever of any Disney theme park on Earth, and on days when the park is at it's crowdest, those restrooms hardly have a wait, including the ladies ones. (Don't ask me how I know that) Of course... these restrooms are only opened when they are holding special events in there.. (pin trading, bear convention, new year's eve dance/dinner event, etc)

On a side note, I would love to see everything related to the Millenium Celebration gone and eradicated from EPCOT Center and all of the Disney parks for once and for all.. The hideous Spaceship Earth wand, what's left of the ugly Millenium Village, the pin trading/pin station and tarps over/at CommuniCore Plaza, all purple signs and poles on property, etc etc etc.

And your little Disney croc shoes too!

Can someone explain where the Millenium Village was? I don't remember it at all.

It is STILL at EPCOT, most specifically in between Canada and the UK pavillions in World Showcase. While the millenium celebration exhibits are now gone for good, this tent pavillion is still there and used for special events and private convention functions.

Can someone lend me a bulldozer please?

it's being used for mother's day buffet on the 13th. I really enjoyed the millenium village but it was a temporary structure for a reason. once the millenium was over it should have gone away. they have the odesy restaurant space for special events they really don't need this.

Re: Because I miss this place soooo much...

I have really mixed feelings about this place

    Pros:
Great Idea (lots of "new" countries presented)
AC'd (great in the FL heat)
Facility sucked up lots of people

    Cons:
    Extremely hideous building
Poorly done the first time around
    Really difficult to keep "fresh"

While I voted indifferent, I'm leaning more towards rippin' out the whole place.
