Question Staying on Disney -need to get offsite?

Just wondering I am planning on spending a couple of days of my holiday offsite at Universal and Busch Gardens(getting shuttle from SeaWorld) and Seaworld, and I understand I will have to get taxi/cab's to these places from my resort (All star movies).

~ But what i was wondering is how much will this taxi cost realistically?

Be prepared to shell out a pretty penny. You'd be honestly better off renting a car for the day you want to go to Busch Gardens.

I've heard Mears has a shuttle that goes from Disney to Universal (and vice versa). Can't confirm that though but that's what I remember hearing. Can anyone here confirm or have a better suggestion?

I suggest you learn to drive quickly! Even in an area where there are lots of tourists, if you can't drive public transport is not good. Getting around WDW on their transport is absolutely fine (I am going to stay there and will not bother hiring a car other than to get from airport to Wilderness Lodge and vice versa, I will rely on the transportation system). But Disney do not make it easy to go off property - they want your money! There is a cab rank at Downtown Disney, you could negotiate a fare from there? Failing that, stay on property!

You may want to go to http://www.mearstransportation.com/ and see what they have available or even give them a call.

You can certainly take the Lynx to Universal. I believe that a stop was added to DTD.

You can probably do this now but talk to the hotel concierge about different options to get to Universal and Sea World. If they don't have a concierge, talk to guest relations.

Mears offers shuttle service to all of these parks. You can prebook or at the hotel.

its about 45 bucks to get from orlando international airport to port orleans, disney is MUCH closer to universal than that, busch gardens on the other hand is about 2 hous from disney--you're talking lots o money for a cab.

Mears usually runs at $12-$15 for local round trips. Much cheaper than a taxi.

i know it might be weird asking, but why dont you call disney and ask them if Shuttles pick people up to go to other destinations in Orlando... I am sure they have to realize that their guests want to see other things outside of the property....

If worse comes to worse, you might have to rent a car that day, or call a cab, but expect to pay... especially if I-4 is heavy with traffic...
