Re: If The Lagoon Returns to MK, Should It Have The Little Mermaid Theme?

It does have more E-tickets, but its also gone the longest without a new quality ride and its lost an E-ticket since then as well.

It has 5 E-tickets by my count:
Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, Pirates

Epcot has 4 E-tickets by my count:
Soarin, Test Track, Mission Space, SpaceShip Earth

MGM has 3 E-tickets possibly 4 depending on the quality of Midway Mania:
    ToT, RnRC, Star Tours

    Animal Kingdom has 4 E-tickets:
Dinosaur, Everest, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris

So while I'd like to see the other parks, especially MGM get some more quality attractions, I think the oldest park on property that hasn't really been updated with a quality attraction in years could use a new one.

I'd rather see DAK get some nice indoor C-tickets, MGM to get one more quality E-ticket and some good C-tickets, and Epcot to have one real quality ride to anchor the other side of World Showcase.

I think that's a pretty cool idea. It would be neat to see A Little Mermaid Ride. But some of the old stories say that Mermaids use to lead ships to certain doom!

You would think if not an Ariel ride, then the Imagineers would come up with something new and amazing. It's a big lagoon with those rocks and all. It's a great location.

And Disneyland is still waiting for them to do something with the Peoplemover/Rocket Rods track...

    I wouldn't hold your breath!

I say they should do something with both Little Mermaid AND Atlantis!

I know the latter is a long shot but I would personally love for that movie to get some extra love. Boost dvd sales or something. It's certainly not as bad as many people have been saying.

Ooh! I like that! Any type of little mermaid ride would be a hit. I've always felt that there should be more princess rides.

    I think you mean sirens.

As for Atlantis, why have an attraction based on a dud of a movie?

Because the possibilities for an amazing attraction is a lot greater using Atlantis.

The Little Mermaid is great, but the best you can get is a Peter Pan copycat dark ride.

What was great about 20K Under the Sea was that it's an adventure for all ages. It's something that even adults want to do. The theme of Atlantis can offer that. It doesn't have to be a recreation of the film at all, but just a taste of the wonder that discovering a lost continent would bring is more inspiring and exciting for me.

I'm not talking just another dark ride. I'm thinking grander E-Ticket class attraction that will amaze guests of all ages. The Magic Kingdom needs that.

Now...Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, or Home on the Range... those are true duds.

please!!! this would be great so we could get rid of that stupid Pooh thing taking up space. It would seem kinda funny for Disney to go back out and dig up a lagoon they just filled up.

But the question is... would it be a lagoon again? Probably not. I think if they did go with a Little Mermaid attraction, they would add some sort of water as part of the exterior but it wouldn't be quite the same as grand and beautiful as the lagoon was.

Awww man. I was litterally hoping we would get a ride that, like the movie would be a real stinker. And I don't mean the cow dung!

Why not if make it a true water ride?! Have like small explosions where you could get pretty freaking wet! Maybe the sinking of Atlantis it causes water jets etc. Of course you would have to open the sub up to make it a water ride.

If the lagoon returns to MK, Walker Bush will be president of China, and Osama Bin Laden will be Pope.
