How do Extra Magic Hours work?

Last time I was in WDW, you had to register at your hotel for the nights or mornings you wanted to go because they limited the amount of people. But now everything I've read makes it seem like anyone staying at a WDW Resort can use it without having to register for them as long as they have their resort ID.

So I was wondering, can anybody staying at a WDW resort use the EMH now, and you can just walk in if you have a resort ID and obtain a wristband?

Yes, anybody staying at a WDW resort can use the EMH now and you can just walk in but you get your wristbands in the parks at designated areas.

Make sure you each bring your resort Room/ID card as proof you are staying on property. It seems each park had a different requirement when we were at WDW last August. At the MK they requested a Resort Card from each of us, even from each of my 4 kids, in order to get wristbands. At MGM they said one Resort Card was good for up to 4 of us and at Epcot they said our kids didn't need cards but my wife and I did.

Yes, it really depends upon the location - time of night (before or at the start of EMH or end,) season/expected attendance, and the location within the park.

If you have any questions just ask a Cast Member or at the front desk when you check in at the Poly. They'll be more than happy to help. But my advice to you is to get your wristband BEFORE park closing so you don't have to wait with the rush to do so then.
