    Water parks. :)

They don't get a lot of coverage on here, and I think they deserve their due.
Now not many people visit the water parks, well compared to the theme parks anyway, and just dismiss them as side-line attractions which are pretty much a waste of money.

Me and my family love them. They can be as relaxing or as exciting as you want them to be. Both parks are just lush, with miles of scenery and plants and trees, especially Typhoon Lagoon. Both parks are excellently themed and detailed, as Disney is supposed to be, and I just feel that a lot of people are missing out on them. I would call them hidden gems, but they're not that hidden.

It doesn't matter what kind of person you are, rides-wise - you can either sit by the lagoons all day reading a book, or you can go on some of the best water rides I've ever been on.

Sorry if this sounds like some promo material Disney has written, but I literally have nothing bad to say about these parks. Some people say "Why go to a water park when my hotel has a pool?" I turn that on its head. "Why sit around a pool when you could go to a water park?"

Who loves them? Who hates them?

I think they are great parks, but it is an "extra cost" and as much as I do enjoy them, I tend to spend much more time in the "dry" parks.

If I was a local, I would be at them all the time.

I am not a water park fan but if I was going to one, either one of the Disney Parks would be my first choice. I think the themeing sets them apart from any other. I do want to go to Typhoon Lagoon some day to swim with the sharks.

For some reason, when you ask my dd where we are going on vacation this year, she is telling everyone "I'm going to Typoon Lagoon to surf surf surf!" (I say "for some reason", since she is only 2.5 and I don't know where she got this idea!) But I am excited to say that I will be visiting Typhoon Lagoon on this trip for the first time in probably 10+ years. It's good to hear that it is holding up.

To me, a trip to the World is not complete without a visit to both water parks. They are some of the best themed parks out there. Our local water park has 5 slides and a wave pool. There is no theming and there are tons of bees waiting at the bottom of the slides. Not fun!

I love the water parks too, especially Typhoon Lagoon. I'm thinking of just getting away for a weekend and just doing BB for a few hours and not go to the parks.

When we went for the first time to Blizzard Beach I got so exicted that I thought "Hey, i wonder what the other water park is like." So our next trip will be in Oct. but maybe when we go in May again I'm thinking of begging my dad to take us to Typhoon Lagoon. I hear that you can swim with sharks!!!

There is a reason for the most part the Water Parks don't get love around here... and it's not the park's fault.

The parks are awesome and show that Disney can still out do the competition. Those that don't make time for them in their WDW are missing out.

Blizard Beach is as well-themed as anything else in Disney. Not big on Typhoon Lagoon, outside of the wave pool and Crush N' Gusher. Their family raft ride is just pathetic.

I love them too, even though I don't get to visit them as often as I'd like to. I get a kick out of seeing the UK pasty white tourists turn into red shrimps by the end of the day... Hahahaha!

They're both great parks. On our last visit, we went in December 2004, and my daughter who was 4 at the time wanted to go. The warmest it got on the trip was about 55 degrees, so when it hit that point and felt warm we took off and went to Blizzard Beach for about 30 minutes before it started getting colder again. We did the family raft ride, the kiddie tube slides and the lazy river.

I try to get to at least one of them on every visit. Well worth the time.

I've only been to Blizzard Beach, and that was about 8 years ago. Two years ago when we stayed at WDW for 8 days, there just wasn't time for both water parks. That's why THIS year, we're going 10 days. I can't wait!
