A Note From Your 'Ghost Host'

Screamscape.com has posted a picture of an apology penned by Master Gracey himself that now appears at the entrance to the Haunted Mansion.

Does this mean there will be some additions, not just a refurb?

regarding the refurb, so far I have heard about new/updated audio, digital replacements for the Master Gracey painting and those in the protrait hall, eerie footsteps, removal of the spiders, removal of - or updates to - the pop-up ghosts and a floating Madame Leota ball.

I find new rooms a bit hard to believe. Especially after the cuts to the budget for this.

I've seen some [outside] pictures already! Not much has happened yet though, other than what mentioned.

I, for one, will not mind seeing the spiders go and they can take the pop-up heads with them. I find it hard to beleive about additional rooms as well but am truly hoping for the new bride!

I had heard that the attic was going to be updated too to be similar to the Constance of the DL attraction.

I wish they would completely digitize it all.
Doesn't WDW still use tapes for everything?

WDW never used tapes. It uses an old computer system called DACS. 1971 tech we're talking about here.

Yes to everything mentioned here, and even some more minor things that were not mentioned here. Except for what Space Junk said. There are no new "rooms" being added, unless he means that some current rooms will look radically different... which, in that case, I can confirm.

Now, I know it would be too much to ask what exactly you mean by "radically different", so instead I will only ask if you could possibly maybe perhaps let slip a little inkling of a hint as to which rooms may or may not possibly be changing . . . ?

    Maybe, lol.

I never cared much for those spiders, either. They always seemed a bit lame compared to the rest of the attraction. I don't mind the pop-up heads, though, they are always good for startling a few people.
