There is no Beverly in Italy?

A couple of my relatives just went on a trip to Italy. It was one of those multi city tour group excursions.

I told them to try some Beverly when they got there.

They said they checked in every store and restaurant and asked everyone they met about it.

They told me NO ONE had any idea what Beverly was.

I just finished searching the web for info on Beverly and it seems every mention of it is referring to either Epcot or the Coca Cola destinations in Las Vegas and Atlanta.

I am starting to wonder if a conspiracy is afoot! Maybe Coke just made this awful concoction as a prank.

Has anyone here ever found Beverly in Italy? Is it easy to find? Does it go by a different name? Is it only in certain parts of the country?

And, is there any way to get some shipped to the US?

FYI: Beverly is a bitter tasting beverage available in the Club Cool tasting center of Epcot.

From what I've heard, outside of the from Costa Rica, all the drinks at Club Cool really aren't as popular as Disney/Coke makes them out to be.

Beverly is difficult to find in Italy mainly because Italians do not frin this as we drink Coca Cola. Bitters such as this and other products, Sanbitter, Chinoto..., are used as after dinner digestion aids.

If you had access to their fabulous red wine, would you drink Beverly?

There used to be a web site in Italian devoted to Beverly, but I can't find it right now. And the Beverly promoted on the site was colored red, as opposed to the clear stuff at Epcot.

Hehe, I love to stand around Club Cool sometimes and just watch for unsuspecting people that try Beverly. Usually someone else in their group "innocently" recommends it. It's always funny, though. I did it to my mom years ago. Classic!

Yeah, I remember seeing that too. I think it was a Coke site, and it IS red on that site.

I have had a Beverly-like beverage in Italy (and here, but it is difficult to find) made by San Pellegrino. It tastes exactly the same as Beverly, but it is carbonated. Campari is also similar but contains alcohol. You can easily get Campari in the US.

I like Beverly. It's not overly sweet like the other options available to try.

I had some today and it definitely went down a lot easier. I think it is an acquired taste that is unavailable enough that few get acquainted well with the different taste.

I'll be in Rome in about a week, and see if I can find any while there.

I like it, too. Great before a ride on the "more intense" Mission: Space.

Re: There is no Beverly in Italy?

The following is from a write up about the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta where apparently, Beverly is alive and well:

You stagger into the "Tastes of the World" display, where dozens of awful soft drink flavors from around the world pour out of free fountain dispensers. Come on...you've gotta try at least one. Sip some tutti-frutti Fanta Kolita from Costa Rica, or try a mouthful of non-carbonated, sour cherry Cappy from the Czech Republic. Gah! Mouth-befouled veterans encourage newcomers to sample Beverly -- a quinine aperitif from Italy -- then laugh hysterically as the victims bulge their eyes and spit it out. Survivors of the "Tastes of the World" display have no problem understanding why Coca-Cola is so popular overseas.
