Seriously, I have been interested in food, not just from a cooking persepctive, but from a chemistry and "nutritional antrhopologist" standpoint for for a long long time. Thats not to say there are some things I DO NOT agree with Mr. Brown on (I found his beermaking show rather thin and bland - heh!) but for the most part he is very very factual.

Well, corn, cranberries, blueberries, tomatoes, peppers, pecans, black walnuts, sunflowers, moose, turkey, bison, and deer are all Native American species (I think, I may be off on some of them)

So much food that is "regional" is not from that region to begin with.

Now, Figaro Fries, thats a different story. They come from somewhere wonderful.

Huh...don't rememebr the beer epi so it probably wasn't very good.

Well, then at least the American Pavillion has one native food, turkey legs. I actually remember mentioning this to my husband last month while we were eating them.

Figaro Fries are just a gift from the gods...

Sometimes he oversimplifies and sometimes he is just too much Mr. Sanitary.

Don't get me wrong, my kitchen is clean, but somtimes he is insane.

Homebrewing is a sort of personal thing, and I guess he did things and omitted steps that I would have done, even for a "beginner" show, but then I used to be really into brewing. Its hard to now in an apartment when we cant have propane grills either (which means I can not use my turkey fryer to do full 5 gal boils anymore)

Alton Brown... wow. His voice reminds me of Bear's on that show, "Bear in the Big Blue House."

    I miss Bear!
