Best moderate resort / transportation

I'm about to book my trip to WDW, but before I do so I was wondering what people thought was the best of the moderate hotels. On my last trip we accidently ended up at saratoga springs (not a modedrate but beside the point) and waited 45 minutes before our bus came. I want to know if anybody has had a good experience at a moderate resort where transportation was frequent and travel time especially to MK as well as other parks is relatively quick and easy. Any comments about pools, rooms or general experiences at these hotels would be super duper helpful!

I've stayed at Carribean Beach and Port Orleans FQ, and the bus service had a good amount of wait. Not 45 minutes though.

We'll be staying at Coronado Springs next time. We'll see.

From my personal expererience...the wait time is not great at CB. Actually pretty bad. It has been a while since i stayed at PO and I have never been to CS. But from my recollection, wait times for buses have been pretty long at all moderates and values. The only resort out of the values and moderates I have not stayed at is CS.

Port Orleans French Quarter is my favorite in this category. It's relatively small so you don't have to walk far to the bus platform. You only share a route with Port Orleans Riverside so it's not too long of a bus ride anywhere you go and you're always picked up first so you get a seat. It's nicely themed and pretty quiet and subdued. Plus they have the boat rides to Downtown Disney which is nice.

We've stayed at CBR and CS. Both are huge and both had crappy bus times. We were not fans of the Pepper Market at CS but most people are. Both are beautiful though and we had a spectacular suite at CS. But, I still like the grounds and cms at CBR better.

^^That's actually Port Orleans Riverside, which is where I stayed last month. I only took the busses to & from Downtown Disney but the wait wasn't bad. Actually, I only had to wait for a bus *to* Downtown Disney, which was maybe 10-15 minutes. When I left to go back to the hotel there was a bus already waiting so I ran like a maniac and hopped on.

Oh and I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would stay there again.

I stayed at Port Orleans FQ once and loved it! Can't comment on the WDW transportation situation tho, 'cuz I rented a car and drove everywhere. And that was really fast & convenient (for me at least).

Stayed at Carribbean Beach resort and found buses very easily. Always waited 20 minutes or under. I stayed during the December time frame at the WDW resort so not sure if that's when you're going.

Coronado Springs is my favorite moderate. The ambiance and theme is the best of the bunch, and location-wise... mere minutes from ALL WDW parks, except the MK being the farthest.

I can't agree more. French Quarter is a beautiful resort, the who atomosphere is perfect. It's small and all the rooms are close to the food court/main buildings, and the buses I've never had to wait for. And, as quoted above, the resort generally shares a bus with Riverside, but stops here first, so you have to benefit of a better chance of finding a seat on this than Riverside to begin with.

The french quarter is the way to go.
