^^^ So buy that and later they will have the other 2 for sale so you can get all 3. that would be cool.
As posted in another board. buy all 3 and rent the space from WDW to set it up. (of course that would be expensive. just a comment)

I'm probably going to get killed for saying this but I like the wand. I don't think it should be permanent but I like idea of changing decorations in the parks. Kind of like how they do up Cinderella's castle every few years.
I have found it very interesting that th Epcot webstite now features a picture of SSE pre-Mickey wand and with the now removed EPCOT center sculpture in the fountain....http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw...p=47195&bhqs=1

Don't expect a future reversal to WDW's glory days, example what is happening over in Anaheim right now. This is Exec Al we're talking about, not CM Matt.

(VERY OLD!) TRIP REPORTS
The Vacation planning video (free to see online after telling them some garbage about how often you've been) also shows Epcot without the wand in all it's numerous SSE shots. I took screen captures of this and thought about mentioning it but I didn't think it really added up to anything considering that there were far more rumors of merit (i.e. MGM removal) to talk about instead.
I would like to see the thing go, but I doubt it will until either letters fall off or nature takes care of it.
The big hat doesn't really bother me, but the wand does because it totally blows the symmetry of the sphere.
And how long has this rumor been out? Yeah, for the last 4 years. Ever since the Millenium Celebration ended, there have been rumors about the wand's demise.
I wouldn't take too much evidence in planning videos. They almost always use pretaped footage (to save on money). Also, I doubt the people making the videos would have any clue if the wand was coming down. There is a whole thread on WDWMagic that discusses an identical situation.
And just for my opinion....personally, I love the Wand and Hat.

I don't dislike the hat, its just the Theatre is much nicer.
The wand is just a cancer though.

But it also has recent shots of the Smiling Overactive Host talking about Epcot, and they've very carefully framed the show so that she appears to be standing in front of the sphere and there's no wand in sight. It's odd and feels rather intentional.Originally Posted by askmike1

For the record, I think the "EPCOT" wand is simply the worst Disney eye sore ever... I can't think of any designed item I have hated more than that EPCOT Wand...
When I first saw that monstrosity after not really paying attention for a couple years, I said, "you gotta be $&#%ing kidding me...."

The wand is also not show in the commercials for Soarin.
On the one hand, I'd chalk it all up to Disney's ineptitude when it comes to (mis) representing their product. On the other, maybe we are getting close to a rather large circumcision. The wand was budgeted for 10 years beginning in 1999, but maybe they have rethunk that ... and maybe Siemens just wants it off 'their' new attraction?
lets hope this happens, it would be cool to see them themselves somtime soon (the hats been there since the 100th anniversery of walt disney and the wand... oh my god i can remember the last time i saw globe without it) does this keeping the special additions to each park for special occasions mean that the cinderella castle in the magic kingdom be the same for a while (dont get me wrong i love it but it would get old)

Both the hat and the wand were meant for 8-10 years. They are by no means temporary decorations. The castle decorations on the other hand are temporary and are only meant for this celebration.does this keeping the special additions to each park for special occasions mean that the cinderella castle in the magic kingdom be the same for a while (dont get me wrong i love it but it would get old)

This just in... the wand will no longer say Epcot... it will say Siemens... LOL
j/k
I've seen this video as well, but I put no stock in your theory (sorry). It could be no more than the cameraman or the director just not personally liking the wand, so they framed it out of the shot.Originally Posted by MickeyMania
