A man who was rescued from a lake at Downtown Disney on Wednesday morning will face charges because of the story he told police.
Investigators said Mark Weathersby, who is in his 20s, was swimming in the lake after a night of drinking, WESH 2 News reported.
Officials said Weathersby developed cramps after swimming into the middle of the lake and began calling for help. He was rescued by the Reedy Creek Fire Department and will be OK. Detectives said Weathersby became embarrassed and told officials there was another man with him. Rescuers searched for three hours but said they didn't find anything.
It was then that authorities said they determined Weathersby was lying. He will face charges of filing a false police report.
