Oh yes, it was so freaking cool

We (me and friends) had decided to go 9/28 - 10/5. As of yesterday there were no AP discounts. I called at about 10:00 EST this morning just to put in a courtesy hold with AAA rates on three rooms, and wait and see if any AP rates opened up.

I asked the person, do you have any AP rates for the values, and she comes back and says, I have them for $64. Ahhhh, the sweetness.

interestingly two rooms booked at $64 and the other at $65.50 - I will have to check that out.

Hmm... those rates actually sound like about what the rooms are worth.

Nice, this makes it easier for me to go in August like I wanted. Unfortunately I can't book until the first week in August so hopefully someone will cancel.

No Wilderness Lodge rooms available at the rate. So I either change resorts, or eat the cost. Kinda makes me upset that there is no availability at the AP rate here. This is the first year, at the same time that I have had a problem.

We are staying at WL too...but on Club Level so I highly doubt ours would have been included. Maybe I can convince the hubby to switch. I wonder if Poly is involved since that's the only other one he wants to try?

They still had Caribbean Beach but it was 90-something dollars.

Remember ... free dining the past few years fills more rooms and that leaves fewer to be discounted ... and at higher rates ... $64 at value when a few years ago it was $49 ... $94 at mods when a few years ago it was $79 and $164 at deluxe when a few years ago it was $129.

Maybe it's because they annouced the rates quite late... and a bit after they announced the free dining package?

Re: August & September Annual Pass Room Discounts

    Now I am quite confused.

I have booked three rooms at my AP rate of $64 a night. As it turns out, some of our party is arriving 5 hours before me. Rather than wait for me and my AP to show up to check them in, they decided to re-book the room under their name, at the "general" rate.

When they did this, their room rate per night went from $64 to a whopping $65.50

These people are first time WDW people. In fact, this is the first time they are taking a vacation outside of this State. They are NOT savvy discount getters, they know no codes, they did not have any hidden discounts because of prior visits. They just called up and said "we want the room at the normal rate" and they got it for $1.50 more a night.

Thats some discount I can get with my AP there.

I gave up on WDW Resorts for this particular time and booked at the Swan.
