Oh... Mickey and Donald on the opening float of "Mickey's Street Party" parade!!! Now I can't get that "Thank you, Mickey!! Thank you Donald!!!" song off my head...

We went a lot during that time period.
They used to have a Three Season Salute pass. You could go as much as you wanted to either park durning the months of January, May and September.

oh, i knew i was too big for those strollers...but I was a brat...hehe in some ways, still am. I wanted a stroller bc my brother had one. I"m surprised there wasn't a balloon tied to the stroller yet...I'm sure I got one later that evening...heh.

I'm going to my parents tomorrow, I'll bring up some more pictures. I can't find the other ones I have atm. They're buried some where -_-

Whoa whoa what?? That is news to me!!! You know? I attended DL's 30th anniversary All-Night party on July 17th, 1985 and do not recall hearing that song over there... Besides, if I recall well... "MIckey's Street Party" was at the MK after their Tencennial celebration in 1982... so that would mean this song premiered at the MK long before DL used it?

In 1986, Mickey's Street Party was converted to the 15th Year Celebration Parade so that's the song I have going through my head now.

"Fif- teen years
We're having a party
At Dis- ney World
We're gonna party all year long"

or something like that. :-)

The 15th Years of magic Parade was a totally different parade than "Mickey's Street party" Different floats, different music. But you are singing the right 15th anniversary song up there.

Nope. It was actually about both.

Because management back then actually was very, very smart.

They knew if you provided the best family entertainment in the world in clean, well maintained parks, staffed by people who had something invested in the place and were treated well that they'd make bundles of money.

It's really just smart business.

The greed of today's execs and reliance on the bottom line of everything vs. quality is why WDW is the way it is.
