Help! How Do I Get From Epcot to Magic Kingdom through the Monorail?

I've been to WDW a few times but rarely use the monorails to get from Epcot to the MK and back again. I'm also looking to take some family members to the hotels connected to the MK monorail...

Can someone help me, as well as new visitors to the MK, get from point A [Epcot] to Point B [Magic Kingdom] and all the MK hotels inbetween [Polyensian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary].

Hmm - if I remember correctly, it's pretty easy - the Epcot and MK monorails both stop at the transportation center. So, if you take the monorail from Epcot - you'll go to the transportation center, then transfer monorails to the one that takes you to MK. That monorail makes stops at the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian.

Ok...To get from Epcot to MK you have to take the monorail from Epcot to the Ticket and Transportation Center(TTC). Get off the monorail and then get on the other monorail that goes directly to MK from TTC(or you could take the ferry across the lagoon if your main destination is MK). To go to the resorts of MK, that is another monorail train loop that can also be accessed from the TTC....it stops at MK and the the three monorail resorts. Hope that makes sense!

Just hop on the monorail at Epcot, it runs over to the TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center). Its basically the parking lot at the Magic Kingdom. At that point you transfer to one of two options, you can either take the express route which just runs straight over to the Magic Kingdom station or the resort line which will run past all the resorts on the way to the Magic Kingdom.

Don't take the express ask a cast member where to go to get onto a monorail to get back to your hotel if it is on disney land.

You have to return to the transporation & ticket center and then get on the epcot center monorail.

If you take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC, you need to board a separate monorail to visit the resorts on the monorail line. Each line is clearly marked as "EXPRESS" or "RESORT". If you have any questions, just ask a CM and they'll point you in the right direction.

Smart people would either skip the monorails to the MK and take the Ferry Boat. It's a nicer way to arrive at the MK without the monorail's contant "waiting for traffic clearance".

No. You can take a ferry from the TTC to MK.

Basically, ONE monorail circles the 3 monorail resorts ( Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian ), the Transportation and Ticket Center ( TTC ), and the Magic Kingdom.
you STOP at the TTC to get to Epcot
you come BACK on the monorail you took to get to Epcot
when you get off, you can take the Ferry from the TTC straight to the Magic Kingdom
OR
take the express Monorail to the MK
OR
if you'd like, circle the Resort Monorail to the MK.

One tip - if you're not in a rush and any kids will love it:
Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort are allowed to ride in the front of the monorail with its driver. All that is required is to ask a monorail cast member. There is a limit of 4 people, and it does not matter if they can sit on each others laps. If they breathe, they count as a person. Be prepared to wait though, some drivers may say "No!"

Back on thread topic. By far and away the nicest route from TTC to MK (or vice versa) is the ferry.

Actually.. it's two.

It's more accurate to say there are two Monorail loops (one each direction) at the MK site. The loops connect the TTC, MK, and the monorail resorts. One loop will normally operate as 'express' which only stops at TTC and MK, and the other loop will run the opposite direction stopping at all locations - aka the 'resort' monorail.

At TTC, there is a 3rd loop, which connects TTC and EPCOT.

A monorail train only operates on one loop at a time, so switching between loops requires a transfer to another monorail train. The only place to transfer to the EPCOT loop is at TTC.
