    SSE Refurb Permit

    http://officialrecords.occompt.com/w...2&doc_status=S

This document was approved at about 1:30 yesterday. Many more should be on the way.
I wonder if we will be seeing an earlier closure date.

Wow. I never realized how detailed Disney was with pinpointing the location of SSE. Great find!

"complete ride control replacement"? Could that mean the system or just the program? I hope they address the system, as it's in creaky shape.

To the best of my knowledge, the entire ride system will be changed.

The company contracted to perform this phase of the work, Birket Engineering, provides Electrical Software and Control systems for rides and shows. They have an extensive resume' that includes many well known theme parks and attractions.

Some of the their current assignments are:

    > Discovery work in progress for the world's greatest theme park ride ever.
    > Control panel fabrication in progress for the world's #1 theme park.
    > Show control system hardware & software design in progress for Hong Kong's #1 theme park

(hmmmm, wonder where those could be)

You can see a list of their past accomplishments as well as information on the company itself and many of their various projects here: http://www.birket.com/home.htm

If they did nothing other than fix that awful bumpity ride system it would be a smashing success of a refurb of the ride portion for me.

I have a good feeling about this ride when it opens. I hope that it draws crowds.

It already does draw crowds. More people ride SSE than any other ride in the resort.

hmm. not really, only in the morning when people are coming in since it's the first attraction that is at the entrance. But check it out after noon, it's no wait time. I went during the Christmas/New Year time and it had nothing more than a 20 minute wait. I'm expecting it to have crowds like Soarin' or Test Track.

Well, does anyone know how many people are on that ride when it is full? That could say something about the crowd level...it seems to be able to hold alot of passengers at one time....

Guest capacity for SSE is about 2,400 per hour if everything is running smoothly.

Nope. The ride system and vehicles will remain.
