July 14 at Epcot and The Magic Kingdom

We drove up for a very quick trip on Saturday, July 14th. Here are a few pics from that day. I hope you enjoy.

My first view of the Epcot wand being disassembled.

    A little closer view.

    My favorite Epcot store.

How do they expect to sell any WDW Olszewski pieces if they are hidden away at the back of the store. They would sell much better if a prototype of the entire collection would be displayed as it is in Disneyland.

I thought this Trolley piece with the Fab Five was SO cute!

Here, you can see the crane used to disassemble the wand.

The daily 3:00 PM storm looms over France. Happy Bastille Day. It was a pleasure to meet DLRP_Bopazot there.

Micechat's official food ... the Pocky display at Japan.

It will be nice seeing a wand-less Spaceship Earth next time.

Next up ... The Magic Kingdom!

City Hall at the Magic Kingdom.

    Main Street Station.

My hero ... Roy O Disney. The man who made WDW a reality.

I just thought this building in Adventureland was so cute.

These birds (cranes?) on top of this kiosk in Frontierland watch the multitudes walk by.

The Haunted Mansion was being refurbished, but even the outside details are beautiful.

The King's Galley is closed. A sad day indeed.

    A beautiful carousel horse.

    Partners.

If you see a yellow, red, blue, or green shirt, odds are they're from Brazil.

It was fun watching the Brazilians congregating.

What have they done to the Walt Disney Story? What a waste of space.

Who knew you could get a shoe shine at the Magic Kingdom?

The Brazilians were dancing around the flagpole. Fun!

    Fun, fun, fun.

And as the sun sets on the Magic Kingdom, we say .... till next time!

I got VERY lucky with the rain. I went in to meet DLRP_Bopazot in France as the rain began. We chatted for a little while and when he returned to work, the rain had stopped. Of course, it was SO humid after that, but the rain and clouds helped keep the temperature down.

    Two questions:

Where is that statue of Roy O. Disney?

Where is the building playing cartoons, I know Main Street Cinema used to, but that was changed into a store. I know you said the building was the Walt Disney Story, but where was that and how long was it at the park (as the Walt Disney Story)?

    Thanks.

The Statue of Roy (and Minnie) is in Town Square, right behind the flag pole.

I'm not sure of the Walt Disney Story's dates, but you can enter it now through Exposition Hall. It's all the way in the back. Almost as if they don't want anyone to know it's there. There are also a few areas where kids can get their pictures taken with cutouts of the Disney characters. There is also a display of Disney Animated milestones.

    Thanks.

Those Brazillian groups annoy me. Maybe its just me and I need to get over it, but it always seems like they're trying to make a spectacle out of themselves instead of just enjoying the parks like everybody else.

Re: July 14 at Epcot and The Magic Kingdom

Really great pics, Mike. Love seeing how they're coming along on the wand!

My family loves the Art of Disney stores as well. My mom and I can spend an hour at a time in any of the locations (although we always end up in the MGM location the longest, for some reason).

Love these TRs in any way, shape or form! Keep 'em coming, folks! I'm going through serious WDW withdrawal (last trip was in January, with a day in April....I'm sending out my resumes now, in hopes that I will be a resident of Central Florida before long...can't wait any longer - or go through another Buffalo winter!).

Thanks, Mike. It hasn't even been 2 months since we've been there, and we're anxious to get back again. Not sure we can wait until the October Invasion II.

Not just you, its me as well. And its not just Brazillian groups, but anybody, group or otherwise, who feels the need to "entertain" other people.

Now don't get me wrong. I am a huge ham, and "selected" to do something I will be right there, but I also have a sense of decorum.
