    Re: Stuck in Everest

I have been to Disney many, many times through the years and have never been evacuated from a ride.

Me either, I've had a ride stop before, but it started soon after. I believe the longest wait time for me was on the Haunted Mansion in the cemetary. That song sure gets annoying after a while but I am glad they didn't turn on the lights. LOL

TDL - Sorry to hear about your unfortunate ride experience. I also have to agree that Everest is so much better at night to really immerse you in the story and take it all in.

It was not unfortunate at all, since it didn't end up like Big Thunder at DL a few years ago. No one died here. But.. I had a blast walking out of Everest. It was fun!

I was only evacuated once at the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland in California. It was SO cool to see how the special effects for the rolling ball work.

    You know what's strange?

I was just about to board Everest at the exact moment you got stuck. I was loaded in the front car (for the first time ever) when all of a sudden you felt/heard everything powering down.

    What a strange coincidence.

And during EMH's too. I wonder how you managed to get in as a local?

Yeah... the more I read about this, the less I think I'm gonna ride it!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

You get to have all the fun, including jet setting around the world visiting all the Disney parks and getting evacuated from the cool rides.

The only evac I ever got to experience was the Hyperion Theater at DCA due to a fire alarm.

    Awesome!!!

The funny thing is, we have been stuck on rides more at WDW than Disneyland.

And we have only been to WDW twice.

    Hmmm ...

Only ever been stuck on the Gwazi ride at Busch Gardens and that was a killer. It took ages to unload us and walk us down the steps. I know it has to be done in small groups but my back was killing me by the time they let us out of our seats. Sitting at 45 degrees to the vertical for over half an hour is no fun. So when I do eventually ride Everest in October it had better be operating in tip top full function mode!
Now I'll turn that little mouse's dream into a nightmare Fantasmic !

    Re: Stuck in Everest

I've only had to get of one ride and that was at DCA in Cali. We were on Grizzley river run. We got stuck right before the big drop. WE waited about 30min in the sun man it was hot. We had to wait intell they let the water drain. It was cool seening hte ride with no water. We did have some jerks on the raft in front of us. They just walked out with no help from the cm's. This was back in 2005.

Now we've had rides stop and restart on us at wdw. It happened to us on snow white and it just worn't(sp)the whole ride.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing your experience with us TDLFAN. That's one attraction that at least you'd get a good view of as you got evacuated from it.
