No - they don't. Don't confuse 'use and innovate' with 'rely on'. Pixar movies are so wildly successful because of the stories and characters, not because of the techniques used alone. The technology supports the movie - it's not the movie's backbone.

A robotic arm doesn't make any attraction good on its own... case in point? USH tour!

That being said.. the HP theme will be immensly popular, but we haven't seen anything that infers the attractions themselves will be so out of this world. It's the theme that will be the draw there...

My 8 yr old has already said 'when they finish harry potter land can we go?' - She's never heard of Universal and doesn't care... but HP? She knows all..

I don't know. HP is pretty classic at this point - it depends also how well they do the land. But there are a lot of older movies that stand the test of time, and the HP series may do that.

I am more likely to do it, I haven't been to Uni too often over the past 5 - 6 years.

But thats a show, not using the ride vehicles themselves on the robotic arm, which is what most likely Universal plans to do.

Anyway, this thread has been derailed enough...back to the topic of Space Mountain...I hope it's like DL's because after riding DL's last year, I'm so underwhelmed by MK's now

I actually prefer the MK version in some ways, though I wish it had a soundtrack and that it was darker. I found the DL version too smooth.

DL blows MK's out of the water for just a pure attraction. MK has got nostalgia going for it.. its like the cute rough coaster at the amusement pier at the ocean you still love to ride. I do like the styling (though dated right now) of the MK vs DL's queue. The loading platform is kinda neat at DL though.

I LOVE the glowing cars of MK.. and miss that greatly in DL.. but once ON the ride, the dark, starfield effect is so much better. The 'omg.. I'm going to get my hand chopped off' feeling in MK is pretty good in its own way

If they were to just update the queue.. rebuild the track to be DL smooth... and implement that starfield with soundtrack.. I'd be more then happy.

MK's displays on the ride are cool.. but mostly from a nostalgia factor, not because they are so great on their own.

We can only hope that "they" plug the leaky budget soon.

I would like for them to at least replace the chain lift with a belt lift. The sound and roughness of the chain takes you out of the experience.

And of course, as per the new NASA rules, there will be a two-drink minimum.

Universal or not...Magic Kingdom needs to get its act together. A trip to MK is still a "must-do" for most American families. Parents bringing their kids to the park today probably have memories of the park when it was fresh and well kept...but as the generations go by, if standards continue to fall, there will be a gradual erosion of people's expectations, and eventually, it will lose the exalted position it still enjoys in the minds of casual visitors.

Hey...do passengers have to abstain for 12 hours before boarding the ride?

I wish they could use DLP's soundtrack - Michael Giacchino's score probably would be appreciated more stateside.
