Great shots of the hotel and grounds! That beach hammock has my name all over it.

Thanks DonDuck! The hammocks around the resorts always look very inviting.

Here are a couple of more photos:

What the heck is a trifle? It looks DELICIOUS but I can't quite figure out what it is. Is that whipped cream?

And is that a single serving or did you share?

Well if done the traditional english way, it's sponge cake, jello, cold custard and whip cream. Not bad, but very fattening.
Let's put the Walt back in Disney!

    Thanks for sharing Denise.

I don't know if it's me or not, but I have to say Disney's Victorian Resorts do nothing for me - Grand Floridian, DLH Paris, HKDL Hotel, Newport Bay, Yacht and Beach Club. Am I wierd? I much prefer the delights of the Lodges - AKL, WL, Grand Californian, Sequoia Lodge or the Urban hotels - Contemporary, Swan, Dolphin, Hotel New York, Ambasador, Hollywood.

Thankfully Disney offers us all choice.

I'm pretty flexible. I like most of the Disney hotels. Well, except the value hotels at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort Paris. I do prefer elegance and opulence though. Reason why the Victorian theme appeals to me, though the Old World Italian themed Hotel MiraCosta is by far the most elaborate and opulent of the Disney hotels.

I don't know about the jello at the GF. It's like sponge cake, custard with fruit (berries), and cream on top - not like Reddi-whip, very thick.

And it's huge and I didn't finish it (it's a very rich dessert). My DH had the lemon cake last year, and that was VERY lemony. It felt like you could just wring the lemon out of it. Thee was a very thick slab of unsweetened whipped cream on it, to help with the tartness.

I've never had anything that I didn't like at the Tea - except for maybe the little sandwiches 4 or 5 years back. I just don't care much for little sandwiches! (its not their fault).

It is. I've never been there, but I laughed when I saw the china because its the exact same set my mother has. And I know the name because I've had to buy it for her for Christmas before. I'll have to let her know that she has a little bit of Disney in her home.

Dave - I think that is the nice thing, there is a resort for everyone. As I had mentioned when I put up the Polynesian walk - that is my personal favorite resort, but I have a Pop Century budget mindset. I actually really enjoy the PC very much.

I love the Lodges as well - very rustic. I have always wanted to live in a log home, and probably won't get to do that. But visiting the WL especially, it's nice to at least feel like I'm in one (a very large one) for a few minutes! I am not as big a fan of the Y/B/BW resorts, but I do like the Boardwalk. I prefer the Swan and Dolphin over in the Boardwalk location.

There aren't too many resorts at Disney I don't like. The Grand Floridian is lovely, but I rarely spend much more than $100.00 per night anywhere for a room - including in London and Paris. To do so is a treat for me. So it's just a very, very occasional type of splurge for a night.

It's Royal Albert. I don't actually own any china, but looking online - this appears to be a popular one! And it looks rather expensive too. I just buy Corelle, it's durable and cheap.

Thanks, I'm probably halfway through the resorts now.

The GF is nice, and the rooms are finally being refurbished. But I can get by on the tea and walking and feel like I've been there (without spending the extra money!)
