they are clearing out the foyer area because it was so dated, broken, non-functional that it was such an eyesore that Disney wanted to remove it so they could open the two attractions during the F&W without those eye sores...
What... Disney cleaning up just to clean up? Doesn't happen currently... so I nix that theory
They are cleaning out the old, dated, non-functional stuff from the foyer to make indoor space they can run events and (likely) charge admission to during the F&W festival.
Given theory 2 meshes with the philosophies of 'don't do anything until you absolutely must' and 'give me more revenue opportunities' I think theory #2 is dead-on with current management and why we are finally seeing these changes.
If its being used for events, I don't see why they would open the attractions - conflicting purposes and would probably fight for space (I don't remember the queue setups in there)
Well, i was talking to a CM a while ago, and he said until they have a sponsor for the WoL Pavillion, it will be a seasonal pavillion, and only opened for special events (like Food & Wine festivals)
And im guessing the sponsor has to be themed to the ride, like Siemens for SSE, GM for TT, and Nestle for The Land.
Maybe Tylenol can sponsor WoL??
And it is a shame to see the decline of the pavilion over the past few years. I've been going since I was two years old. I can't tell you how many times I've been in there. It was sad to see how vacant it was the last time it opened seasonally. Kinda seemed like a ghost town.
