Where would you propose to your significant other at WDW?

I was reading on the Disneyland board that someone wanted to propose to his girlfriend at the Haunted Mansion. That got me thinking...where in WDW would be a good place to propose to your significant other? These days, men don't need to propose to women. Who says women can't propose?

If you were to propose to someone at WDW, where would you pop the question?

BTW, I don't have a significant other, but applications are always accepted!

Hmmm....just off the top of my head. Cinderella's Wishing Well after dark, World showcase at night. At one of the deluxe resorts (Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge would be my choices), or the French Quarter. Brown Derby, by the Tree of Life after dark.

That's all I can think of right now. But, I would lean towards the resorts personally.

I love Disney but I think it's kind of cheezy to propose or get married there.

I think it's a better place to consider for the Honeymoon.

That said, it wouldn't be too cheezy to do it in one of the nice restaurants in one of the hotels, or a quiet garden in one of the hotels.

Oh and I think the guy should ask the girl, not the other way around.

I don't think it's cheesy at all. It could have a special meaning for the two of you. Place you met, first date, etc. It varies from couple to couple, but I do believe there is a lot of romance at Disney that people fail to recognize.

As to having special places... My wife (NOW and for 5 years come 11/9) has a special love for trains/subways/monorails/etc I proposed in the FRONT OF THE MONORAIL.

My wife's sister when we took her and her boyfriend (now husband) I carried the ring around the MK all day and he tried to propose in the Rose Garden in MK but my ister in law wouldn't go down there with him. So he ended up doing in front of Beach Club Villas where we were staying.

to me the most romantic place to propose is the beach at polynesian during either wishes or the water pageant. IF you want to make a big scene, then I would suggest the train station platform during wishes, right after the little girl finishes singing " and all our wishes will come true." those are two ideas, I have others. but it depends on the season mostly.

This isn't a hypothetical for me. I did propose (and she accepted) in Japan, while the taiko drums played near dusk, and we hovered near the rock garden part of the pavilion (halfway up to Yakitori House). I choose it because she's half Japanese. Worked for us!

I agree... furthermore, I would not go to Disney for a honeymoon either, but for those who like that.. then more power to the Mou$e.

And maybe if you're crazy, you might want to propose in The Haunted mansion just as Constance wields an axe!

Re: Where would you propose to your significant other at WDW?

Well.... I don't have a significant other, but if I would propose right during wishes....

Get a nice spot on Main Street near Casey's Corner, preferably where it isn't crowded. While watching the show, I would hug the other, occasionally saying something like "I love you" at the end of the princess section. At the Blue Fairy part, I'd tell that person something like "I'd love to spend the rest of my life with you." And finally, at the very end, the moment they single the final "And Your wish will come.... true...." pop the question, hopefully get a "yes", and you get to see the final burst of fireworks and Jiminy's "See what a little wishing can do?" line. And on the offchance she said no.... well... at least you still get to see those fireworks.

So that would be it in a nutshell. I suppose the same general thing can be done with RoE, saying "I love you" at the "fake ending", the "spend-rest-of-life" line as the globe is opening and propose either right before or during the thousand points of light segment.

(Resisting the urge to take one of the many obvious shots at Mikey's post on love!)

But I won't ... instead, I'd say over dinner at Victoria and Albert's at the GF with the harpist playing a request ... the park locales seem ... tacky to me.
