..............wow, it looks even better from FW/ WS!

The rain gives it a metallic shine. Very nice. (Cleaning/ polishing would make this permanent *hint, hint*(!))



On a different note, anyone else think the new shop in the Contemporary is completely overdone?

Why the need for the HEE-UUGE Mickey entrances/ exits? (And, quite frankly, why the need for walls?) I liked the open, spacious feel of that area.

Wow!! Spaceship Earth looks fantastic!

It looks kind of odd though. The wand has been there for so long, the ball just seems kind of naked in a sense. But it looks so much better. Simpler, more professional, and more pristine.

That is how I feel - it's an incredibly simple but elegant structure, all by itself. The wand really took away from that (for a long time!) I love seeing it back to it's former self!

Here is one also of the Contemporary - I finally got it into Photobucket. It looks like the shop won't be too bad, though I prefer the Concourse just open without anything!:

SSE looks great ... again. Almost like the past eight years never happened.

As to the Contemp. shop, if it's being built to be permanent, I would guess BayView Gifts days are numbered and I would also surmise that the walkway connecting the new tower will actually be on that side of the building.

I was told that the shop (permanent) was to replace Fantasia. But Disney can certainly end up knocking down anything they want, if there is a walkway going to be built.

Incredible pics. I keep being amazed every time I see a new picture of the naked SSE. I find I experience a little catch in the breath, as I look at the pic and go "hey, there you are, beautiful - I've really REALLY missed you!"

Very nice photos. It's especially gratifying to see Spaceship Earth lit up at night from across the World Showcase Lagoon -- just like it used to look pre-wand.

Thanks! I wanted to get some from Italy, but they had the area roped off at 7:30(!) for Illuminations viewing. I will do that sometime, once my camera is better too (I hope it is okay!) It's still trying out.

Has anyone seen the concept art for the Contemporary shop? It is comparable to the wand in tackyness. Although I see thir reasoning behind it, the design is extremely enclosed and not open and airy.
