Go WDW! I'm guessing many rides will get the same award year on year or something then since Rock 'n' Roller Coaster's been open so long. Seems a bit strange

Schlitterbahn is a great waterpark. I can't disagree with that at all.

    Thoroughly deserved.

Not that these awards mean anything..........whatsoever.

    As proven by........

The winners were chosen based on the magazine and Web site's surveys "of experienced and well-traveled amusement park fans around the world".
    .....and no mention of DisneySea.

    Also, if it's an
    amusement park
survey, Disney parks shouldn't be included.

Re: WDW Nabs Golden Ticket Awards

I already posted this in the DL thread but I'll post it again.

This is my favorite part of the Golden Ticket announcements . Under friendliest park staff:

    "Disneyland Orlando, Fla. (Tie) 3%"

Ya know, I always did think the Florida Disneyland had really friendly staff. The Golden Tickets seem like such a joke in some categories. For instance, Knoebel's beating out Epcot for best food? And out of the 4 parks in WDW, why is MK the one that got votes? Epcot and AK are far superior. I never really considered ToT to be a dark ride either, but I guess I could be wrong. The Golden Tickets seems to love Cedar Point, Knoebels, and Holiday World for some reason. I know we may be biased being the Disney fans that we are, but Disney only winning two awards? Seems like a bit of a joke to me.

If it is worldwide then I spit on the golden ticket awards, since everything comes from the US! Still, I'm treating that 'fact' with a degree of uncertainty. Worldwide or not though, some of these are just ludicrous

Not worldly? Is that a joke? Blackpool Pleasure Beach was mentioned. Isn't that enough representation for the rest of the world?

If your survey comes up with this result under best park

    Holiday World 7%
    Disneyland 6%

    It's garbage.

Holiday world is an average water park and an average amusement park with a couple of coasters that if not the best in their class are close to it. It's a fun place to go but it quite frankly cannot hold Disneyland's jock.

I'm shocked NOT to see DLP and TDS...
But they poll the same people EVERY YEAR so this is no shock.

I have to agree, I wasn't that impressed by it either. As for best new ride I think the new Griffin at Bush Gardens Williamsburg was better than the Cedar park coaster but that could just be me. As for the wooden coaster I would have thought the Wildcat at Hershey Park should be in there as well...
