Typhoon lagoon / Blizzard beach tips, advice?

I'll be going to both waterparks next week and I've never been before. I know I'll visit all of the big attractions but does anyone have any advice, warnings, tips, suggestions etc...

Thanks everyone,

Speedemon

Re: Typhoon lagoon / Blizzard beach tips, advice?

I honestly can't think of any tips that would apply to the Disney water parks. Apart from theme, their activities are as ordinary as those found at any other water park anywhere. However, here is a helpful tip..or opinion: if you go to Blizzard Beach on a very sunny day, you MUST bring a good pair of sunglasses and suntan lotion, as the glare of the sun against the faux white snow intensifies the heat and lightling and will cause you to go blind and tan much faster than other parks.

Lots of sunscreen and apply it often - also, don't wear a good bathing suit. Those slides tear up the "seat" of your suit pretty badly.

Also, be sure to get a wrist photo pass early in the day - they're kinda fun to have.

Re: Typhoon lagoon / Blizzard beach tips, advice?

With BB, get there early, the lines build up quick and stay. If you are a resort guest check to see if they still have morning ERT. Anyways, heres how you need to attack the slides:

1. Getting there well before opening (1/2 hour at least) get your locker as quick as possible (if needed, if you can skip it thats fantastic) and make for the ski lift, ride (no use in climbing when there is such a short line)

2. Ride Summit Plummit

3. If the lines not long, grab the ski lift, if your party is ok riding single on the lift, use the single rider line, otherwise hoof it back up to the Summit, ride Slush Gusher.

4. Following the same advice as #3, ride Teamboat Springs

5. Grab the lazy river for a halfway trip to the other slope (not the tube slides on the back of the mountain, saves those for later)

6. Ride the Downhill Double Racer

7. Grab a mat and ride the mats on the left queue (cant remember the name, but its the straight down version, not the slalom ride)

8. Ride the Slalom Mat Slide

9. Walk back to those tube slides in the back of the mountain, ride the enclosed version

10. Ride the Open Version

11. Enjoy the river and the pool for as long as you want.

Thanks everyone,

Speedemon

If you walk down to your resort pool area and take some towels, thats free.

If you want towels at the water parks they cost a buck each to "rent"

Take towels with you to the park

On that note....

Ladies you may want to wear a 1 piece if doing Summit plummet, according to my wife when she was waiting for me to come down she saw a lot of girls loose their tops...

Guys You might want to hang out at the bottom in case any of them need help locating them...

Hmm, When you wish upon a star just popped into my mind... So it must be Disney!

In all fairness ladies water slides + string bikini's = potential peep show. You have been warned... And yes Disney sells waterproof disposable cameras all over the place so no telling where the photo's may wind up... an no I'm not one of the "perv's with camera's"

I think the best thing is get there at opening. We went to both waterparks the same week you are going this year, last year. We got there at opening and were able to do so much without lines in the AM. Have Fun!!!

That and they sometimes fill up and close the gates especially on hot days and weekends.

Get the refill mug.

Oh and if you're at Typhoon Lagoon, I'd make your way to where Crush n Gusher is and set up camp there instead of the main pool area. Much more lush.
