Ummm, have you seen my avatar? Well, I guess laying flat on your back can be somewhat slimming . . .

Actually, I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but my avatar has an indirect Disney tie-in. I'd just really fried my back in a boat accident in the San Diego harbor. Y'know the scene in Soarin' where you're taking off from the aircraft carrier and swooping around to your right? About at the end of this shot, that's right where we went airborne with our small boat, going too fast over a wake that was way too huge. But what goes up must come down, and the landing was very very bad to me. Right after this pic was taken I went right to the local hospital for xrays. No real damage - it just hurt like HELL!!!

So everyone, every time you watch Soarin', think of me!

Gracey, may I remind you that it was DL park copying TDL's decor from previous years? Where do you think the big Mickey-o-lanters, giant pumpkins etc etc were installed first several years ago before DL did? And where do you think some of the decor from DLR came from last year (and possibly some decor this year's as well?) Thing is.. TDL never reprises the same decor/parade/merchandise ...reason why TDL's Halloween event feels fresh and new each year.
And while we are on it... HKDL also copied DL's decor for halloween last year.
I am just glad that finally, the MK is being given a bit of the same treatment it's sister DL parks get. As long as they don't put up those awful pumpkin men from DLP, all is well at the MK.
I have no problem with the copying as long as it is quality.

And the rest of the decor (giant Mickey Jack O Lantern, jack-o-lanterns lining Main Street USA, Giant Character head jack o lanterns at entry turnstiles, etc were all created 'specially for Disneyland.


Anyway, it matters not. Its a good thing that the US parks are getting into the Halloween spirit finally... just a shame they took so long to do so.

But I must say, Disneyland's floral mickey during HalloweenTime (actually, during any time!) is way nicer than the Magic Kingdom's.

Not a good idea to "mess" with TDLFAN ... as I will be quick to offer an answer when I feel a correction is needed.

As for TDL's decor in DLR...I did not go to DLR last year for halloween, but I believe you are correct that the decor outside the park was what came from TDL.

Thanks for the quick update TDL. Still can't enough of the photos of Spaceship Earth looking all wonderful again. Ya know... I haven't seen it wandless since 1985! That was my first trip to EPCOT Center and wasn't able to get back again until 2001.

Someday I'll see it.


Anyway, loved the report about American Adventure. I'm with ya on that one too. Always gets me as well.

OH MY GOSH! I just got really, really excited when I saw those Halloweeen decorations at MK! The light-up pumpkin was there last year for MNSSHP so it was fun to see it there for everyday guests now. But that really makes me excited to go back for Halloween time!!

Not to mention how TDLFAN enjoyed his time in the parks! :cblink: Niiiice!

What a refreshing and wonderful trip report, TDLFAN.
It only makes the pain worse that I'm not preparing for my October trip this year, like I usually would be, because we're going somewhere else this October for holiday. Just when TDLFAN posts a tremendously positive trip report - that means WDW is definitely on the way up!

Oh well. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Hopefully the parks will still be improving next year.
