Photomatt 9.20.07 WDW MK Halloween and HM Update

Howdy.

My anger management class let out early today so I decided to head over to the MK to see if the HM was up and running. It wasn't. No, I'm not kidding. When I first walked up to the attraction I noticed there was no queue, and lots of people were exiting the attraction. I figured it was another 101 so I sat on a bench and waited awhile. About 15 minutes later I saw people walking under the new red canopy so I quickly got in line.

After riding the attraction all I can say is "WOW!" Sure, some things were not working, but it did not matter. The show elements that did work were beautiful. The staircase scene was awesome and the ghosts were really vibrant and colorful. The imagineers really did a fantastic job on this one. I will post a few on-ride pics later.

But first I will start with a few pictures of the Halloween decorations, which are also amazing.

I live in Orlando, about 5 min from EPCOT and Sea World, but I usually post more of Disneyland because when I am in CA I make it a point to visit the theme parks. I would have more posts of WDW, but the heat and humidity make me stay away from the parks during the summer. I hope to have extensive WDW updates / picture posts as it cools off.

Of course, I might move, so that could all change. Right now Denver, Las Vegas and SoCal are the three I am choosing from.

Part 2

As you know, the HM is kinda dark (lol). I rode twice using a different lens each time. I got lucky once or twice on each ride. I will try some different settings when I go back this weekend.

Oh, fair warning, if you don't want to see any of the inside pictures, don't go past the spolier alert.








I love the few flowers that were growing along the fence next to the queue. I think it woud be cool to have this whole area lined with low lying rose bushes. It's just a brainstorm, but I think it would be nice.










I may not like the heat and humidity, but I love the thunderstorms they bring.

The ride stopped at this point, so I was able to get an almost decent shot of this one portrait. The effect of the appearing and disappearing heads was not working today.

I think this one picture should really give you an idea of how good the ghosts look. Yeah, the picture is dark, but I think you can tell how colorful they are. They are amazing in real life - how ironic.

Christmas is just around the corner....





And then it rained - again, and it was time to go. That was a good decision because I am pretty sure it rained during Wishes.





So, that's it for today. I am really going to try to go to Fantasmic tomorrow. So, I might have my first WDW HS (Hollywood Studios abbreviation) update.

I always love your pictures, the indoor mansion ones are absolutely gorgeous it just goes to show that if you have the right equipment you can take awsome photos without flash. keep up the excellent work
