Filming of the WDW Christmas Day Parade

Does anyone know what day the MK will be filming their Christmas Day Parade that airs on ABC?

Isn't it filmed within the first week of December?

Yes, filmed at the beginning of December. And about as exciting as watching a seed grow into a tree.

    Just MHO!

It is to be filmed on Dec8th -9th In fact they are giving away one of the weak "Year Of A Million Dreams" prizes to watch it be filmed on the 8th and they will want the winners to stand and be filmed for a couple of hours. That is the problem with this parade. They tape delay it but when they annouce it on Tv they don't let anyone know that it was already filmed. People show on Dec 25 wanting to see all the stars and are upset. Plus they are so desperate for Mail Street to be full of people they ask for CM's to show up and stand around for a couple of hours. Update. The website says they are to film it on Dec 5th which is odd since it is on a Wed You should check with guest relations. They tape other events like concert shows during the week but have taped the parade on Sat-Sun since Kelly and Regis work during the week.

Re: Filming of the WDW Christmas Day Parade

We happened upon the Christmas parade taping a couple of years ago (it was Dec 2 that year) and it was a zoo. People everywhere (me included) trying to snap a good shot of Regis and Kelly which was almost impossible without a good telephoto lens. Then, you could barely wade through the throngs of people all the while traffic control is yelling at you to move along. Glad I got to see a little of it the one time. Next time though, I'll avoid that park like the plague that morning!

We did see the Cheetah Girls on their float that day, which was fun for my 6 yr old daughter.

Actually they do. They briefly flash on the bottom of the screen "Previously Recorded".

Do people really expect the stars to be working on Christmas day. Seriously who want to work on Christmas even if your job is to ride on a float! However, I guess the Disney cast member have to do it!

What cracks me up is when they film the parade, they usually get great weather.... then it airs on Christmas and it's overcast/raining in Orlando that day.

I think generally it's on a couple of days, not just one. And honestly - really boring. I stood there once for a few minutes, and being told to clap. But there was nothing to clap for (give me something to clap for and I'll clap, make me bored and I'll yawn!)

Re: Filming of the WDW Christmas Day Parade

    Thanks guys!

I thought it might be fun to check it out. I have watched the parade since I was a little kid. I just wanted to be around that day so I can say that I was there along with a billion other people during the taping of the parade. My mom and stepdad might go for the Christmas party and hang around for the taping of the parade.

I figured everybody knew that they recorded it ahead of time. I think it is hilarious how the hosts are like "Merry Christmas everybody! How is everyone enjoying their presents?!", etc.
