Fishy baby, these pics are A-MAH-ZING!!! thanks especially for posting the IOA pics. My BIL did some design work on that park when he worked for Universal as a contractor in the 90's before moving on and helping with DCA. (It's not his fault, don't blame him)

it's nice to see what he helped create.

ORDDU: (Sigh) What a totally romantic experience it was--for me at least--to hang out with all those gorgeous hunks. I must say, Life in Morva hasn't begun to compare with all the fun I had with each and every one of them behind closed doors--

ORGOCH: --say what?! Only doors I saw the whole dang time ya was around any a them Micechat men-folk were closed flat on yer face!!!

ORWEN: I was especially happy to eat some pastries at Epcot in France with everybody. And Savik101 just totally stole my little heart away. (sigh) If they made men like him in Morva, I'd have gotten married a long time ago!

ORGOCH: Yeah, right! Like as if anybody'd ever wanna' hitch their wagon ta some sorry sap like yerself.

ORWEN: Go ahead, old biddy! Make fun of me. It doesn't matter. Because Savik101 gave me the most precious night I'm gonna always remember forever no matter WHAT you say!!

ORDDU: Really, dear? You and Savik101?

ORWEN: I never kiss and tell. You know that!

    WDW Invasion II

    Day 5 of 7
October 25th Free day. Animal Kingdom, Disney MGM Studios

    The grounds around the resort

Plans were made for all who wanted to go to meet at Disney MGM and spend the day there ending the day with the Private, MiceChat Fantasmic Hors D'ouerve Dinner. Dusty and I woke up and realized that we needed some down-time.

    Our resort

During our last visit in June during Gay Days we left the last day of our trip to the Animal Kingdom and seeing the new Nemo Musical. That one day all of the performances were canceled. We were afraid of leaving Saturday for that chore again as we were sure that, if we did that, somehow the universe would conspire to keep us from seeing it again. We then decide to sleep in a bit longer, and mosey on over the the Animal Kingdom to catch the first performance of Nemo the Musical.

We left the hotel about 11:00am an got to the bustling Animal Kingdom at around 11:30am. The park was packed to the gills with people. It was CRAZY.

The scarlet macaws at the entrance

We attempted to get Fast Passes or the Safari ride. To our dismay the Kilamanjaro Safari Ride had already, by noon, run out of Fast Passes for the day and the standby was at a healthy 70 minutes.

    YIPES!

Saddened that this meant we would not go on Safari during this trip to Florida we sought the refuge of the hidden, winding trails around the Tree of Life.

The detail and imersion this park offers is stunning and beyond compare in the WDW resort right now.

Quiet trails of eden-like beauty wind around the base of The Tree of Life and are certainly worth a look.

Seeing that all of the other places to eat were PACKED OUT we went to the old stand-by, The Flame Tree Cafe. Despite the long line we got our food within 15 minutes and headed down to the water to eat.

    Look! Lasster took our order

We ran into Snow White Raven, Skyway grl and co.

We left lunch and hopped into the Nemo Musical line. It was about then that we got a call from Doom BGI. He asked where we were an we told him to join us.

The crowds were being let in, but we saved a spot for our pal. Once the house settled the lights went down and the magic began.

The Nemo Musical is an outstanding piece of musical theatre. The Film's plot is compressed into a 45 minutes and moves at a breakneck speed which would probably loose the uninitiated. Despite that one qualm, the staging is bright, fun and inventive and all the musical numbers glitter with originality and charm. A WONDERFUL SHOW.

We decided to leave the park at this time. Doom BGI, in his normal chivalrous fashion offered us a ride to our hotel in his rental car. We jumped at the chance to avoid the Bus system and were back to the hotel in no time.

    LET'S GET OUTTA HERE!

With a little bit of time on our hands before having to go to MGM Dusty and I dropped by the Jacuzzi. With a Martini in hand I began to read my new book before slipping into the bubbly water.

Relaxed and refreshed we went back to the hotel room, changed, met up with Savik101 and Monorail Man and got on the next bus to Disney MGM Studious.

We had to meet the group in front of the Rockn' Rollercoaster Fast Pass Machines at 6:45pm to be escorted backstage ant to our dining location. We got to the park at about 6pm ad this allowed us to catch a ride on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror before dinner.

    The prototype for DCA's entrance

What this ride has is amazing detail. It really sets up the mood for the ride to come.

    So, I don't get it.

Exiting the ride it was around 6:38. We headed over to the meeting spot for diner.

    Three generations of Disney Fans.

Once the whole group was tere, we were escorted backstage, around Tower of Terror, and up the back steps of the Fantasmic Ampitheatre to our own private dining area. This trip allowed for views of Tower that are normally not seen by visitors.

Not much to the facade from this side

The buffet, although finger foods, did NOT dissapoint. There was a table o breads, cheeses and Italian cold cuts, another table of Sesame chicken, skewers of beef and chicken and Jalepeno Poppers, and then a beverage table featuring 12oz cans of Coke, Dasani Water, and juices.

    The YUMMY buffet

We were all very impresses and we all dug in.

    The view.

As we finished dinner the show was about to begin. We took our spots along the raised railing an enjoyed the show.

The bubble medley goes on FOREVER

Instead of the Columbia they had canoes for a Pocahantas sequence

So is this better or worse than the Disneyland version? Meh. It has it's good points but Disneyland's is, overall, a tighter show.

There is certainly more to the WDW version, but bigger isn't always better and sometimes less is more. It's not that what they changed was altogether BAD, it just went on WAY too long in spots and wore out it's welcome quickly at times.

    A half boat finale

Overall, though, the experience was wonderful and, although pricey at $50.00 a person, it was worth doing at least once.

    The group

After the show we were hearded out of the park as it had closed around us during the show.

    I love me some SC

We made it to our line at the bus stop and the line for our resort was UN BELIEVABLE!!!!

It stretched past 3 other bus stop stations. UNREAL

We began to get antsy, but soon enough other busses were called on to help deflate the huge crowds to our resort. We boarded the bus within 25 minutes. That was still WAY too long to have to wait for a bus to our hotel, but it was much better than it would have been.

It was a wonderfully relaxing day. One that really let me come down a few notches on the stress-o-meter.

I had the next day of drinking around the world to look forward to so I neede to get to bed right away.

    Until next time...

    THE END!!!

$50.00 per person?......Wish that was all, but we were able to take care of it.

To tell the truth, it cost $1000.00 just to rent the area and $27.00 per person for food and drink....

Wonderful time and well worth it!

I was thinking that $50 seemed like a bargain! But with enough people, it really is (compared to what the Fantasmic dessert buffet at Disneyland costs, or the dessert buffets for Illuminations).

    So you rented that out?
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Fishy... you said "we were saddened by not riding Kilimanjaro due to FP being distributed for the day"... I guess you understand now why I will argue that FP has to go forever... I am sure your wait time for the safari would have been about 45 mins if there had not been any FP service here.

    FP MUST GO!

Other than that, you and Clinks look so sute together on that photo.

    ^ Don't we though?

The Safari's line most likely wasn't that long.

The two times we rode it, there was a posted wait time of 50 and 70 minutes respectively. The first time we waited around 30 minutes, the 2nd time around 20.

We noticed most of the wait times around the entire resort were WAY off this trip. Those red tag things don't work.
