WDW Invasion II Trip Report by Mousercise

This was my first trip to WDW I had a great time and can't wait to go again although I'm completely exhausted. Hopefully I can get through a day or two tonight.

Day 1 - 10.21

After a red eye flight and a nap at the hotel I finally caught my first glimpse of the Magic Kingdom at about 11AM.

So weird to see "The Magic Kingdom" on the train station.


First look at the castle.


First order of business? Country Bears!! One of my favorites at DL until it was replaced





Very disappointed to find out they weren't playing the Vacation version of the show. But any Country Bears are better than what DL has now. After the show Butterflylark and I wandered around Liberty Square into Fantasyland to Small World.

While the exterior left much to be desired I loved the ride. They had a couple of scenes that were different from DL.

After the meet and lunch our group ventured over to Philharmagic. Such a great show. I can't wait until this comes to DCA. After that it was onto the Haunted Mansion.



I don't know what it was like before the renovation but the new audio in the elevator and the stairway scene were great. We visited HM at least two more times during the trip.

Meet my Pal Mickey Here he is in the Hall of Presidents. Before the show, Mickey and Coheteboy's friend Jeff entertained us by singing "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah."

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. So nice to see this ride done correctly.










On this day we also went on POTC , TTA , Space Mountain (reminds me so much of the Matterhorn track), and Stitch's Great Escape (awful attraction, will never go on it again). That's it for day 1, we called it an early night as the park closed at 7PM and I was tired from the flight.

Day 2 - 10.22

Animal Kingdom day and back to the Magic Kingdom for Spectro Magic and Fireworks.

Such a beautiful park except for the humidity and heat that day. It really felt like we were in Asia.




My ride buddy was secured and ready for Everest. I enjoyed it we went on it three times that day.

I think this was around the time Coheteboy realized he left his visor on Everest. A yeti must have taken it because it was never to be seen again.

Lol. I didn't enjoy that thing hissing in my ear when the picture was taken and it was so dark in there. But I think the darkness was just to hide the lack of decoration and scenery in the ride.

Why yes! You'll see the rest of his wardrobe in the other day's pictures. My Pal Mickey has three outfits the Sorcerer, Safari Mickey (it's soo cute Mickey has a nametage), and Pirate Mickey. I had to stop myself there, almost came home with the rain coat and the MMC outfit too which would have been everything they had on the shelves . Went a little crazy with Pal Mickey but this was the childhood WDW vacation I never had.

Yup his jokes were really corny but I loved the sing-a-longs. Also it seemed like he had the most to say when we were at Animal Kingdom.

Day 3 - 10.23.07

Epcot and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

After three days we finally made it to one of the places I was most excited to see... Epcot!



Other than SSE I found the rest of the entrance to be completely underwhelming and in need of a makeover.

We headed over to Test Track first to get fast passes then over to Mission Space.

Everyone's ready to go and of course we opted for the Orange side.



Ride buddies too


Great ride, went on it at least two more times during the trip. I just liked being able to play with all of the buttons on the dashboard during the ride.

As we were exiting there were announcements that the Space Shuttle would be launching any minute and that we would be able to see it from in front of the Mission Space building.

So neat that our timing allowed us to see that

Since it was close by we paid a visit to the Universe of Energy and Ellen.



I was worried when I heard that it was a 45 minute show. But I thought Ellen was entertaining

Walking through one of the buildings we stumbled upon the Epcot 25th displays.


Figment! Ok now this whole Imagination Institute thing is making sense to me. It seems so out of place in Tomorrowland at DL.


Yes this one is supposed to be upside down.


We opted to skip HISTA and visited Figment instead. Pal Mickey was in his Safari gear today and Figment and I were matching in lavender.


Sssshhhh don't tell Figment but I found his ride boring and a bit on the annoying side.




The Land Building







Now entering The Land. No Strollers allowed.



Not knowing what was inside, I was kinda shocked that it was pretty much a shopping mall food court with an E ticket ride dumped in the middle of it.


After lunch at the seasons we went on the boat ride. Simple ride, but I enjoyed seeing all of the plants that I've seen in so many other TR's.

East Coast Nemo




You don't have to go to the MOO to see Peach here!


Really enjoyed the clam mobile version of the ride. While it's great to have the subs back at DL it was easier to see the scenes from the clam mobiles and I didn't get motion sick.

We ended up spending a lot of time in this pavilion. While some of our group went to watch a fish feeding in the main tank, I performed emergency surgery on Pal Mickey (aka battery replacement) and watched the CM at the store pelt the guests exiting the building with a Nemo plush (bad show).

Passing through Innoventions we got a special meet and greet with some VIP's.



SSE still closed




Test Track. After having such high expectations for it I was really disappointed. The brake test was painful and the outdoor track was so short.

We took a right into the WS on our way to France for dinner.

After some confusion with the reservations we ended up at Chefs de France.



It was good. Nice to have a relaxing dinner and Evian water. Dasani .
