Sorry for the delay... dinoland pics are almost ready!

Could someone do me a favor and just reply once so I can start the next batch of pictures on a new page? I don't want to overload one page with too many pics.

    gracias!

Re: 10.21.07-10.27.07 -- Coheteboy's 3rd Trip to WDW (Mice Invasion II)

Day 2 at Animal Kingdom continues with Dinoland U.S.A.... the paradise pier of Disney World.... though sadly I like Paradise Pier BETTER.

Let's see what fun we can have here shall we?

DINOLAND... brought to you buy MCDONALD'S! Where all dinosaurs like to eat. Check out the growl on the oaf on the right! Wow!

Night at the Museum... only we're not in a museum. And it's day.

    "uh...uh... I can't see! Blimey!"

    Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama...

We got fastpasses for Countdown to Extinction aka Dinosaur so we hit up this ride:

It's campy but there's things in it that are at least more intricate than Mulholland Madness at DCA. Even though they're the same track, this one has an added bonus of spinning at the end.

    The whirl vehicle

    (l-r) Jeff, Butterflylark, Mousercise

    Me

    The end is near!

    Up we go!

I thought it was a fun ride despite how tacky and ugly it is. The rest of the party thought otherwise. hehe

Didn't bother with Triceratop Spin. Between Dumbo, Aladdin Magic Carpets, and Astro Orbiter, I don't think they need another one of these.

    Here Goofy says hello

    Back to Dinosaur!!

Aladar, main dino of the 2000 film Dinosaur is also the beast we are trying to rescue in this poorly conceived attraction.

    The loading zone:

What was hilarious about this ride was that the CM asked us at the end of the ride if we liked it better than Indiana Jones. I paused for effect and said "no". The CM looked hurt (in a joking way) and said "awww really?". "Not by a long shot" was my response.

    Butterflylark was certainly frightened! heheheheehhe

The truth is, this is a fairly fun and scary ride... but it's mostly scary than anything else and a lot of the fun is lost because we don't know where we're going. And there's not much to look at along the way. With Indiana Jones, there's so much to see along the way that makes it a lot of fun.

Lunchtime was at Pizzafari. We selected that one after saying no to Pretzel Safari, Coffee Safari, Hot Dog Safari, Popcorn Safari, and many others I can't recall at the moment.

I had the parmesan chicken sandwich and it was pretty tasty! What's also cool here is that thtey don't have regular plastic straws... they have special paper straws! Kinda neat but they taste bad after awhile.

Thenn.. it was off to Finding Nemo: The Musical

I personally was quite bored. I loved the look and production of it, but being a musical, I found the music entirely too elementary school stage play for my tastes. Perhaps it's just too hard to follow the likes of Beauty and the Beast or Little Mermaid or Aladdin... but I just didn't like the songs at all.

But maybe they did do something right because I was mock singing "it's a big blue world" the rest of the week. I couldn't get that annoying number out of my head!

Since we spent so much time in Asia and Dinoland, we weren't able to hit up the Kilimanjaro Safaris in Africa so we had to return another day. And because of the early 5pm closing of AK, we had no choice but to leave.

One sad thing was that I left my kangol visor on Expedition Everest (in the pouch) and even though I realized soon after I got off the ride, they were never able to retrieve it. Which mean some dishonest tourist stole my cap. Grrrrrr.

I was pretty disappointed with how WDW handles their lost and found really. They don't take your number and info like Disneyland does. They just tell you to try back later and then if that doesn't work, you have to call another number during their operating hours. Kind of a bummer.

Happy Meal McDonald's on Disney property.

    More to come!

After we left Animal Kingdom for the day, Butterflylark, Mousercise, jeff and I thought we should hit up Downtown Disney for dinner and then finish the night at the Magic Kingdom.

One of the features of the Port Orleans resorts is the boat transportation to Downtown Disney.

It was such a nice day.

Downtown Disney! Definitely a lot nicer than the one in CA.

    The port

We decided to eat at Cap'n Jack's

I wasn't too hungry so a salad and crab cakes were enough

Jeff had the tastier looking lobster though!

Overall, we felt that Cap'n Jack was okay. Nothing too special, but now I wish I tried the lobster!

One of the cooler stores at Downtown Disney is "The Art of Disney" store which is like the Gallery but much larger and everything's for sale!

Here's the sculpture of the Cinderella Castle... looks amazing

    Very nice sculpture pieces

Old Magic Kingdom posters are also available...

This one was a bit random...

Then it was off to Magic Kingdom for our extended evening hours.

    Good bye, Pleasure Island!

Re: 10.21.07-10.27.07 -- Coheteboy's 3rd Trip to WDW (Mice Invasion II)

Yikes, everyone is almost done with their mice invasion trip report and I'm still on day 2???

    I better pick it up!

So just to recap, it is still Monday and we left animal kingdom to have dinner at Cap'n Jack's at Downtown Disney and now we're headed to the Magic Kingdom for magic extended hours. Everything is magic around here.

    The castle at night.

It was about time to catch the SPECTRO MAGIC nighttime parade. And being a CA regular, we were a bit confused at first on where the parade route went. It goes from Main street up to the hub... then takes a huge left turn to go through Liberty Square and Frontierland. (so basically if you're stuck in adventureland.... you're stuck in adventureland).

I haven't seen Spectro Magic since 2000 and I don't know if they changed it much. If anyone can answer that, it would be cool. All I could remember were clowns.

^there they are... clowns playing horns. Glad that was the extent of it!

    Walt Disney World presents....

    Heeeerre's Mickey!

Sorry for this jumbled mess of a shot. It appears to be a metronome. And the Genie is conducting....and the worst crime of all is that he has a speaking part. But it's not Robin Williams as The Genie. It's Homer Simpson as the Genie! Awful. And Dan Castelleneta is one of the nicest guys around too, but he isn't my Genie.

Goofy is playing the xylaphones or vibraphones, whatever they're called.

Chip 'n Dale man up the rear with their piano playing. I'm now wondering where Clarice is? (if you have to ask who she is, don't bother. big disney cartoon nuts will know)

You can kinda see Chip on the very right

    Not NBC.... Disney.

Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather followed the peacock. And to my suprise... they have actual sculpted masks! Not face characters like at Disneyland. Not sure which I prefer yet but it's always fun to see what's on the other side right?

    Fish! A bunch of 'em

    Ursula is sexay!

Wow! A King Triton character! I like the ripple effect above

Fantasia is featured in this float

Attention kids! Disney wants you to drink wine!

It's hard to see but the 3 little pigs head up this float. Followed closely by Cinderella's coach.

    Alice

    A Carousel

    Dumbo!

    The last float i think

    Yay, Donald! My favorite

And that was the end of Spectro Magic. It was fun to see and though the lights were more technologically advanced than the Electrical Parade, I prefer the floats and content of the original Electrical Parade which had a larger variety of characters and better designed floats.

Glad I caught it, won't be catching it again.

    Next up, WISHES!

I'm sorry you lost your visor on Everest. I was VERY lucky then I lost my hat on Everest. I Immediately let them know at Guest Services and they were able to find it (or someone turned it in).

Maybe they should make some extra announcements at the end of Everest so people remember to look in the pouches.

And to their credit, the cast members did remind you to pick up all your belongings. At least they did on my 2nd and 3rd times on the ride. I don't remember if they said it the first time I rode and I have never left anything in an attraction pouch prior to that. It could also be that my excitement from the ride allowed myself to be careless.

But still... it definitely was a case of theft as they checked every pouch on every train for half an hour after I rode (while I waited) and nothing turned up.

I visited Guest relations at the end of the day and they didn't recover it. I called the central Lost & Found 5 days after and they didn't get it either. And no, they didn't take my name down just in case someone turned it in after. Really was one of the more disappointing discoveries of the week.

Hhaa oh yah... the one favorite of mine in the Nemo Musical were the penguins. No, there aren't any penguins in the movie but they placed a pair of penguins into the musical for a very random gag and I liked it.
