    The Clinkerbelle's WDW Trip Report

Hello everybody, welcome to our Trip Report.

I figured I'd wait a few days after the barrage of awesome Trip Reports slowed down a bit.

For our 3rd ever trip to "The World" we brought along Belle's Mom for her first trip to WDW. In fact, it was her first trip east of Colorado. EVER. They usually choose Hawaii as a vacation destination.

It was also a good time for her to get away. It's been a rough year for the Clinkerbelle's and for my Mother In-Law since my Father In-Law passed away last December. This was one of the first things we TOLD her she was doing with us and she really did enjoy her trip.

Day One - Travelling to the World and Dinner at 'Ohana

So bright eyed (not really) and bushy tailed (hopefully not) we started our journey in the wee hours of October 18th. The RoadRunner picked us up at the not-so-bright-eyed hour of 5am and we made our way to LAX.

Waiting for our plane to start boarding

    On the plane

Upon arriving in Orlando, we got lost finding our way to Disney's (not so) Magical Express

But we did get to watch TV (although, no Mickey on our bus )

    My Belle

Josh and Yeti are ready for fun

We arrived at our hotel (Port Orleans French Quarter) and checked-in

I liked the lobby of this hotel.

After checking in, getting our room and watching a bit of the awesomeness that is the "Top 7 (more like 107) Must See's at WDW" (they should offer that on DVD) we made our way to the bus to have our dinner at 'Ohana.

After taking the bus to MK, we went to hop the resort monorail

    'Ohana

Doesn't that thing on Amanda's head look like the pictures from "The Sixth Sense"? Am I twisted or what?

I'm tired, just give me the bread pudding and nobody get's hurt

I have this same pose, but from the other side for our 2nd night at 'Ohana. You'll see.

After dinner we stepped out to the dock outside of the Polynesian to watch the fireworks.

Took the boat back to MK and then on the bus back to the hotel.

Showers and sleep were in order before we were to hit MK the next morning.

    Stay tuned.

Port Orleans French Quarter is one of my favorite resorts on property. Looking forward to the rest of the TR!

Re: The Clinkerbelle's WDW Trip Report

    Day Two - Magic Kingdom

Grandma's first time entering the MK

    The Train Station

    Hey, it's a castle

First Stop - Snow White that actually tells a story

Next - Winnie the Pooh which, surprisingly enough, tells a story

    Backside of the castle

YAY - Philharmagic (the first of 4 or 5 times we saw this on this trip)

    It's a Small(er) World after all

HM which totally ROCKS now and is (I have to admit) better than Disneyland's version. Hopefully this means great things for the future of MK attractions.

Peoplemover!!! (I refuse to call it that other thing although not sure if this one was ever actually called peoplemover)

    Next, lunch at Crystal Palace

    Yummy!!!

Your not supposed to be working!!!

After lunch it was time for Country Bears

We decided to call it an early day since we had to get our Car Rental and had plans to go spend some time at Epcot that night.

While Grandma and the kids took the bus back to the hotel, Belle and I made our way to the TTC to catch the bus to Shades of Green to get our car.

Shades of Green is a Miltary run hotel, so I had to get a shot of the flags of the different branches of the Miltary.

I think it's great that Miltary personell get to stay on property in a nice hotel for a great price.

Our $17 for the week car

We went to Winn-Dixie and then to Dunkin Donuts where we saw this sign. Don't get "Toad".

    Coming back into The World

    And our Resort

So instead of heading to EPCOT, we decided to call it a night and have dinner at the hotel and watch Top 7 things (and baseball) in the room.

    It's an alligator parade

Stay Tuned for Day 3 ... where we try and do 3 parks and almost wipe Grandma out for the rest of the trip. (not smart)

What could possibly happen to make you get lost and the Magical Express not quite so Magical?

Otherwise, great pics and can hardly wait for the rest!

Glad Mamabelle is having a good time so far (tired is good at WDW)!

We didn't see any signs for Magical Express and went down to the ground level and went left instead of right (where the rental car pick-ups are). And then back up to some middle level, then back down and finally to Magical Express which resembled nothing more than an airline check-in at an airport. They kept saying the "Magical Express Lounge" so we were thinking more of a 1st class lounge (but not as high quality) type thing. Not a airport check-in counter.

I dunno, not sure why I expected something else. But the service itself was fine.

I'm so sorry....they are supposed to greet you as soon as you get off the plane and lead you from there.

We did get a bit confused on which floor we were supposed to be on, but figured that out finally.

Yes, before the '94 redo of Tomorrowland, this was the WEDway Peoplemover.

Yeah the stained wicker chairs in the lobby weren't exactly "magical."

There were no signs. People who worked at the airport gave wrong directions. By the time we got to where we were supposed to be and Gregg waited in the super long line, we could have gotten our luggage, the rental car and be at the hotel. It just wasn't what we expected and we would not use it again. Plus the transportation around the resorts and parks is less than desireable. We totally learned our lesson. Get a rental car for the entire trip.

Did they take the instuctions out of the Package they send. I allways received instructions along with my vouchers telling me where DME is. There there are freaking chipper CM's there at the wee hours of the morining when you get down to the baggage claim area to direct you further
