    Question DAK Fastpass Question

When first arriving at DAK in the morning, which Fastpass should I grab first: Expedition Everest or Kilimanjaro Safari? My understanding is that its best to see the animals first thing in the morning, but also that the fastpasses for EE go fast.

We are eating breakfast at Donald's Safari Tusker House. My thought is that I would grab our fastpasses before breakfast so we would be ready to go after we're done.

Also, any special strategies for getting into Nemo the Musical, are the lines still really bad for this?

Any advice or suggestions on the best way to tackle these attractions? We'll be there Nov 16-27. Thanks!

    Re: DAK Fastpass Question

I would grab Expedition Everest, or if you're getting there early (depending on how much time you have), perhaps get fastpasses for Kilimanjaro and ride Expedition Everest because in the morning, Everest only has about a 10 minute wait & it's usually just a continuous line, but we found out when we went in the beginning of August, Kilimanjaro Safari never really had more than a 20 minute wait.

So I would really say it depends on what time you'll be there, because we got there right after opening and the fastpasses for Everest were for around 11am, & we pretty much just walked on at 9:30am & walked onto Kilimanjaro a bit later.

    Re: DAK Fastpass Question

Based on what I saw last week, I would get the FP for the Safari first. Every time I walked by it, on two separate days, it had a 70 min. standby wait and the FP were gone early.

The first day at AK our strategy was to get a FP for EE and ride it at the same time, then go to the Safari to get FP. However, by the time we got to the Safari (probably 11 or 11:30am) they were out. When we went back for the second day at AK we knew to go straight to the safari first thing. I think it turned out for the best because the weather was nice and cool the day we rode the safari and the CM's were commenting on how many animals were out.

I will assume your breakfast is soon after opening? I would get there early and if I'm toward the front of the crowd, I'd ride everest, then fast pass the safari, then head to breakfast. If you're toward the rear of the crowd, I'd fast pass everest, then head to breakfast, then fast pass the safari as soon as I could.

    Re: DAK Fastpass Question

I'd say FP Everest and go stand-by if you're there in the AM. Both are quite quick loaders, but I find Safari to load faster as long as they don't have any backups due to animals. It's also nice to go back on Everest via single rider line or stand-by later as well. Everest is one of those things you want to experience again and again while the safari is the same -- but usually not in the same day as you would a coaster.

    Re: DAK Fastpass Question

What we would generally do is head to Everest, get FP's and also ride. Then head to the Safari's and ride those. By the time your done it's time for more FP's, get some for the Safari's or Everest.

And yes, the posted times for the Safari's were 70 minutes most of last week, but we waited, at the most 30 minutes.

    Re: DAK Fastpass Question

If you do Safaris as early as possible the lines will only be a 5-10min wait (around 9am if you can manage). Usually by 11am, the waiting time shoots up. But I say it's best to get that ride out of the way as well as you FP for Everest. The Nemo Musical wait will probably consume a good part of your day so you want to get as much in as possible based on what time you want to see that show.

The Safari is best first thing in the morning. Not just for lines but animal watching as well

As for Nemo the Musical, the best advice is to skip it

    Re: DAK Fastpass Question

The Nemo musical is, IMO the best show on property. Now, I'm referring to LIVE shows such as Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, etc.

Definately take the time to see it. It's WELL worth it.
