    Re: World's Finest: Magic Kingdom

Wow, I totally agreed with the MGM article, but I don't really agree with too much here.

Thrill attractions: Splash Mountain is my favorite, but least has to go to Space Mtn over Big Thunder. Not to say either one is bad, but Space Mtn is truly in need of it's rehab (but the same awesome layout).

Attraction for kids: I'd actually take Philharmagic any day of the week over Buzz. The Buzz in WDW while having the better layout and awesome speed tunnel, pales in comparison over the Disneyland version. Now if they would upgrade the MK version with the guns, effects and targets from the DL version, it would be better than the DL version. But being that Philharmagic is probably one of my top 5 attractions in ALL of WDW, it's gonna stay on top for me.

Entertainment: Totally agree. I LOVE me some Spectromagic.

Table Service: I also like Liberty Tree. But Crystal Palace, worst in WDW? We have eaten there twice and have had great experiences both times. Besides, it's really not table-service but a buffet. Granted if you don't have kids who happen to love Pooh, I can see why you wouldn't care for it.

Counter Service: I like Pinnochio's but also LOVE Harbor House. Not sure what I'd put as worst in this category.

Shopping: Have to agree. The emporium at MK is awesome. They do indeed have everything.

Attraction: This is where I have my bone to pick. As far as Pirates is concerned, I don't think it's as bad as everybody always said it was. Granted, I didn't see the WDW version prior to it's most recent changes, so it may well have been worse. Of course, it pales to the more grand DL version, but honestly, as soon as the boat benches start to become uncomfortable, the ride is over. Can't say the same about the DL version which becomes uncomfortable for me just about the dunking scene.

That said, Mansion with it's most recent upgrades is without a doubt leaps and bounds above Pirates. It's absolutely fabulous and better than the only other version I have ridden (Disneyland's).

Overall a good article though. Some to agree with, some to disagree with.

    Re: World's Finest: Magic Kingdom

I actually find Big Thunder Mountain quite thrilling, and it's my favorite nighttime attraction at the Magic Kingdom. Next would be the less thrilling Wedway People Mover (TTA). Space Mountain is much more exciting than Splash. I am not looking forward to the re-do, I love all the jarring bumps.

    I haven't done Stitch.

Spectro isn't a must-see for me. Illuminations is, and is by far my favorite night entertainment in WDW or anywhere else that I've been.

LTT has one of my favorite meals in any park for lunch. I can usually get squeezed in fairly last minute. I haven't done dinner there in a couple of years.

I prefer Columbia Harbor House over Pinnochios (which is probably my least favorite in the park, though that might actually be Cosmic Rays). The Noodle Station is my new - and only - favorite, though never open. If I want to eat a full meal, I take the boat to Trails End.

I don't shop at the Magic Kingdom, I shop at the outlets. Any shop that has Disney art is a hit with me.

Best attraction - Haunted Mansion. Pirates still doesn't have a good sound (I can't hear some lines, and little Yo Ho is left to be heard). A group I'm part of did a Pirates meet over the weekend, and had 23 shoved into the boat. They had to really work to get over the drop.

Best place to hang out in the park - the Rose Garden. I love flowers, and being surrounded by thousands of them is absolutely the best part of the Magic Kingdom for me. Same with Canada in Epcot, that is a great place.

Question, where is the first "World's Finest" article. I don't see it on your site.

Philharmagic is a great choice. And a favorite attraction for what age kids? 2, 5, 10, 15. 41? Probably second for me - and I don't really think of Disney attractions as "kids" rides per se', would be Peter Pan. I have loved it since I was young.

Buzz is cute, it hurts my fingers. I think Universals Men in Black is superior. I haven't been to the CP in a few years, but I never had a bad meal there. Cinderellas, blah.

First off, let me say that this article was written back in the summer of this year, so it may be a bit dated.

    Secondly, here's the link to the first World's Finest article, on Epcot Center;

    Thanks Luke.

I'm not sure if that was ever posted on MC (if it was I missed it). You may want to go ahead and do so again (but maybe after this thread has run it's course). I'll save my comments on EPCOT for when it's more appropriate.

Agreed, MIB is awesome. But not really a kids attraction IMO. But better than Buzz most definately.

Is there a height requirement on MIB? I thought it was sort of an everyone-type ride also. I'm just not sure what constitutes a child in this case. I went on Space Mountain first when I was about 11, so I would consider that a great child ride.

Oh - WORST ride for children (IMHO) - Snow Whites Scary Adventures. I've known several children who screamed their way through it. Too much wicked queen, too little Snow White.

    Re: World's Finest: Magic Kingdom

According to Universal's website MIB has a 42" height requirement.

Which is probably appropriate given the amount of spinning on the ride. And while I do think it's okay for most kids, I don't think a ride with a height requirement can be considered a kids ride ... at least not IMO.

The world's finest Magic Kingdom is located in Anaheim, California.

Although an argument could be made for one that was planted in some beet fields 30 miles east of Paris 15 years ago ... oh, but that's not what this thread is about ... nevermind!

I did actually post about the Epcot Center one, but no one ever commented.
