magic kingdom christmas parade and night before christmas

because we went to the Christmas Parade taping, we got a chance to see the MVMCP parade without paying for the party. We also got a chance to catch the Twas the night before christmas show at the galaxy theater.

Some Parade pictures

Re: magic kingdom christmas parade and night before christmas

We also got a chance to catch the Twas the Night Before Christmas show that evening. I had heard about this show over the years but have never had a chance to see it. I must say if they do this again next year and you get a chance to see it, you should or if you will be at WDW after the 21st, it really is a treat.
the first thing you notice is that it has live music. Something I haven't seen in a WDW show since they moved the main shows to the castle stage, It also has live singers as well. I haven't heard a live singing voice from a stage show in ages.

these last couple of pictures are of the castle lights but because of the parade taping, the garlands were taken down for the day so you could get a straight shot of the lighted castle.

Re: magic kingdom christmas parade and night before christmas

Not to destroy the fun..but, any regular day guests will be able to enjoy the Xmas parade after the last Xmas party is held at the MK, and the "Twas the Night B4 Xmas" show has also been playing to regular guests as well for the past few weeks. Nothing special there.

Answering your question, it's no contest between the two of them at all. TDR is the epitome of disney theme park. Great service even with a language barrier. all the cast members are MASTERS of hand signals. it's like a second language for them. Also i enjoyed not only the food choices, but the food portioning. its really just the amount you need which makes me feel better then getting too much food in wdw and wasting. its also nice to have every effect working on splash mountain while not suffocating from swamp water
Now, do you all believe me????

Re: magic kingdom christmas parade and night before christmas

if you want to deal with the christmas crowds you can see the parade daily beginning the 22nd or 23rd and I was told the show was running on days when magic kingdom didn't have parties. they actually had a few extra performances that day because they weren't doing the dream along with mickey show because of the parade taping.

ORDDU: Very nice photographs, cmash95, duckling. Thank you for sharing.

ORWEN: Of course I liked the one of Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip the best. What about Giselle, though? Wasn't she in the parade, too? I had heard they moved her over from Disney M-G-M to the Magic Kingdom for that one day they taped the parade.

ORGOCH: Got albums?

Re: magic kingdom christmas parade and night before christmas

Isn't the parade supposed to be a little different this year? The only thing that I didn't recognize from last year was the little car and rocking horse?!?!

I had heard the same thing but the only thing I noticed was the name float and the car , I remember the rocking horse last year. The floats were rearranged and the characters on the floats were mixed up and some of the costumes have changed. like donald and daisy. and of course the music changed.

She was in the parade taping for the show for christmas morning. This parade was shown in the afternoon and by then she was back at MGM. I am going over there this week to get pictures because this is going to be the last year of that parade if reports are true. I wonder what they are going to do next year at MGM..

After Block Party closes at DCA on January 6, it will be packed up and shipped to MGM to replace Stars & Motor Cars. It should open over there sometime in the late spring.
