    Disney Quest staying around?

I heard rumors for a while about Disney Quest shutting down at the end of the year. But they're still selling annual passes to Disney Quest - is it staying around?

I love the place - all the games are just so fun.

There have been rumors for years. Disney hasn't said anything about shutting it down. I'm sure it will sometime, everything has an expiration date.

Haha. :-D It wasn't meant to be cryptic! I think that Jim Hill came up with the rumor 2 or 3 years ago. So if someone says, is DisneyQuest going to close - the answer is really yes, because everything is on an hourglass.

But who knows when? 1, 3, 5, 25, 100, 1000 years from now? I hope not soon, I like DisneyQuest. I haven't been in a while, but they have the best counter service food at Disney (IMHO).

I would never want to do PR for Disney! I think that would be almost as rough as being White House press secretary.

I remember years ago CMs had "parties" when it was supposed to "close" - yeah, glad it's still open...

It always seemed to be a waste of space to me. Its certainly not worth the price of admission.

It is actually cheaper than it used to be! When you paid per play, it added up SO fast. I can get an AP for what - $90 now? Even a full day ticket costs less than what I could spend in 2 - 3 hours back before it went to a day ticket.

I do miss those days, though - it was easy to get on everything, no waits. And the slide was there!

All you need is an ability to lie and spin with a straight face -- for either job -- not all that hard for most folks.

DisneyQuest should definately stay around. They do need to update and change out some of their major attractions.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer's Gold is a great game and I would love to see it get updated graphics.
Invasion isn't very fun at all, and should be replaced.

Well, that was the original plan for Innovention, and look what we got now. A Segway showroom.

But, yes, with the level of Gaming technology being as high as it, DQ should have no problem staying current. I'm surprised they haven't gutted their Mighty Ducks game and set up a Disney's Rockband Stage. I mean, last time I was there, they had a Disney DDR that was really popular.

The first time I went there it was included in the park hopper pass or whatever they called it back then.

When it opened, the big attractions cost between $3.00 and $4.00 each, and everything else cost less. So $50 in 2 hours wasn't too hard to blow - especially since it wasn't busy.

What I did like about it then, I could just walk in and play a game, get something to eat and leave if I wanted (I love the Cheesecake Factory Express!)

When I went to WDW back in 98 on my honeymoon, it was part of our "length of stay" ticket. It was nice to just walk in, do Cyber Space mountain, grab a bite and check out the rest of DTD
