The power of forsight and the ability to make creative connections is what imagineering is all about. I very much respect your talents California Adventurer. Good call that Narnia would make a respectable rival for Harry Potter. For that matter, so will Star Tours - as Disney builds the franchise up at Hollywood Studios.

I couldn't understand why everybody was against me when I brought it up.

I thought it would make a nice bridge between Frontierland and Fantasyland.

Re: Yoda To Battle Harry Potter In Theme Park Wars

I love the Harry Potter books, but I just can't seem to bring myself to become excited about the whole theme park idea. Hopefully it's really nice but if I ever had to pick between Disneyland and Harry Potter land, it's always Disneyland. If there was a battle between a Star Wars land and a Harry Potter land, then I'm not sure. I most likely will enjoy a Harry Potter attraction immensely depending on how well it was executed, but at the end of the day I want my Mickey Mouse.

If Disney is so concerned about Potter...it seems odd that just yesterday they were airing the Harry Potter movies on The Disney Channel.

They'll probably do what they've always done in the face of some new competitive attraction...add something big of their own, or take something they they had already planned on building and add a few more million to its advertising and marketing budget.

And if they get caught with nothing new to tout...then they'll just run some new entertainment event or thaw out Walt and run some warm & fuzzy ad campaign that makes you feel like you're not much of a family person if you even think about skipping Disney.

Simple: Disney wants to make money. From tourists in Florida, and from ad dollars for people watching Harry Potter on thier ABC station.

I just love your scheme for Narnia-Land!

Especially your idea for the CGI Café. Just think of the money Disney will save!

The power of foresight makes you a leader. Leadership stands alone sometimes - until others realize that they are about to miss the boat.

My point is that it will be nearly impossible to get the look and feel of the big screen. No camera tricks and no CGI. Will it look like Hogwarts? Most certainly. Will it have that ancient, musty look it has in the movies? Not likely.

Same reason that Disney's competitor, News Corp iosn't the least bit disconcerted over Disney profiting off of the Narnia films.. Moola! It means free advertising and significantly higher book sales for it's Harper-Collin's division.

Personally speaking, I consider CGI to be overrated. I enjoy it as a fresh new technologically advanced form of animation. Still, it is computer generated digital cartoons - no more reality based than 2-D (which I still love). Why would I desire to see a CGI looking park when I prefer a live action outdoor experience - especially when my real (as opposed to CGI) body is a part of that action. Sheesh!

They sell the Harry Potter books at WDW's Tower of Terror gift store. What won't they sell at WDW gift stores, other than one-of-a-kind merchandise?
